I wonder if this is how people get viruses

Honestly, if this is how viruses are spread then we have WAY too many computer illiterate people in the world. The FIRST clue is that the filesize is ~40k. The SECOND clue is that I never SEND MAIL. Even if you do send mail, I'm sure you could remember whom you've sent it to. The THIRD clue is that almost every one of these ~40k files came from hotmail accounts. The FOURTH clue is that most of them have attachments. Why do you need attachments for a failed e-mail notification from a service I don't use? It beats me. The FINAL clue is that all of these e-mails were sent within a short timeframe. They were all Friday or Saturday sends.

But I honestly know that this is the exact ploy people who send viruses use. And we have millions of gullible people who will think that their e-mail wasn't sent properly and open it including the attachment. Then they wonder how in the world they could have gotten a virus.

PERSONALLY I have had this computer for over 3 years now and I have not gotten a single virus. I don't even have an anti-virus program installed. People that open these e-mails should really just throw their computers out the window because they do not deserve to own one.

Hehe...a couple years back, I got an e-mail like that. so then I added the persons msn and started talking to them. and they were like "K WTF I DDIN'T SEND YOU NUTTIN". So then I forwarded the e-mail back to them, they open it, open the attachment, and BAM! They get the virus instead of me. kekeke was a funny incident.

Email viruses are retarded. I never open my email anyway...except for the hotmail account i use for some stuff.

Now, you gotta wonder how many people open up their e-mail boxes and see that and think:

"Fuck the internet isn't very reliable these days. 6 delivery failures. I've only forwarded 4 e-mails with shitty jokes in the past 5 seconds, but I'd better open them, and download their attachment."

You make it sound like the only virus you can get is through email... There are some nasty motherfuckers out there... One of my computers was taken out just by accessing the internet, and thats with 2 anti virus programs and a spywear checker up and running. So yeah those are nice and elemntary, but there are worse... especially from people who want to try to take your info. the best way to avoid viruses aside from not opening / downloading those lame emails is to turn off all internet connections when you leave the comp if you like to leave it on. since ive done that my virus blocks have went way down

every night before i get off i lock my computer...does that help from virus's? I once got a virus going to a yahoo hack site i had to rebuild the whole database and all that crap, took all day and night for 1 trojan virus..

www.zonealarm.com <This detects hackers and prevents intrusions. You know it's good if it has a name like ZoneAlarm. Also, scan your comp once a week for viruses (Auto-Protect doesn't pick up everything) and setup a firewall.
