Right now i think the best is SOul Caliber 2 (Xbox). That game is so good. But Street FIghter 2 and MK were really good back in the day.

Wrong place, but Raphael is my personal favorite. Ivy can go jump off a cliff.
Wait, you mean Fighter Game?
Psh, Marvel Vs Capcom 2. Easy. And my favorite fighter for that game would Captain Commando. He just reminds me the most of Viewtiful Joe, with his flashy poses and moves he does. -
I'm in to Guilty Gear XX..
At the local arcade we've had Soul Calibur II for a loooooooooooong time, so competition is basically gone. I've got a bunch for GGXX so I'm playing that now.Comment

Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 2. If you've seen the series you would know how awesome this game is. There isn't a single move that can't be blocked or countered and it follows the series perfectly. Only 60 bucks to import!
~SqueekNaruto is a fast-moving, arcade-paced 3D fighter that is fairly limited in moves and technique, but is fun and addicting nonetheless. The game features 20 anime-exaggerated fighters of which 10 are available from the start. A cel-shaded look differentiates the project from other brawlers.
The fighter utilizes the four face buttons on Nintendo's controller for two main attacks plus a super attack and a throw function. Simple, but effective combos can be linked together simply by tapping a single attack button repeatedly. It's also possible to throw an enemy into the air and inflict more damage unto them as they fall back toward the arena. The special attacks, which cause the most damage, are highly cinematic, immediately switching to canned, in-game cut-sequences that blend seamlessly into the fights.
Each character comes complete with an individual fight style and special move. Unique attacks range from being able to evaporate into the ground and change into different characters to temporarily hovering or, say, conjuring sand arms that wrap around and squeeze the energy out of a foe.
The title's cel-shaded look is certainly simple but also well implemented. Fighters look like their anime counterparts, animate fluidly, and run through varied environments, many with impressive moving backgrounds. Naruto runs at an uninterrupted 60 frames per second on Nintendo's console.
The good news is that readers can pick up Naruto 2 now on import. The bad news is that there is no announced US release date for the game.Comment

But I like fighters because I can go into my arcade and beat people. Fighting the computer over and over just seems pointless in fighters. No one ever follows the stories anyway so what's the point? If I buy a fighter it's only so I can get better for the competition at the arcade.Comment

I love fighting games.
I'd have to go with Guilty Gear X2 or Capcom vs SNK 2. Potemkin and Venom from GGXX and then Rugal and Iori from CvS2, respectively, are my homies.
3d fighters all suck the big one, in my not so humble opinion.SIG PICTURES:

Gotta go with old school and say Guile from Street Fighter. Half the time the expression on his face tells you he's thinking "I am SO big. Haha"Guess who's back!

I can't figure out what the hell Guile says at the beginning of matches anymore. It sounds like "RICE BARROW" or something. Me and my friends mock the way he sounds nowadays. "SONIKA BAHUUEM" "SOMMASOUU"
You also realize he has yet to gain a new attack other than super special moves since his induction to Street Fighter?SIG PICTURES:

Super Smash Bros. Melee for me.I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.Comment

The only fighting game with no life bars, 100% free movement, choice of many Japanese weapons, and where it is better to lose than to win dishonorably. (Yeah, chop someone up while they're bowing to you before combat? GAME OVER.)
I remember that game! The game was awesome! I use to play it nonstop! I loved how you could throw dirt in their eyes and do the thing where you run and each other and slash, and everyone died in one or two slashes if you werent careful, and...oh man, that game rocked hard!Comment

Street Fighter 2 Turbo was sweet, and Ryu was always classic.
Then it was MK3. I bet you i could still beat any of you as Sektor.
Nowadays its Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, or maybe 1, i can't remember. I like playing as Venom and Megaman, i own with them.Comment
