I am scheduled to go in tomorrow at 9:45am and surgery starts at 10:30am. Terrified.

Trust me, the worst you have to fear is probably the lingering pain that comes with it for a few days. But just keep popping those pain pills and all should be fine.

i guess a contributing factor was that i stayed up til like 5 the previous night and just conked out as soon as i got home

Tried to take some meds as soon as I came home, the entire back of my throat & my bottom part of my mouth is entirely frozen, it's goddam impossible to swallow pain killers

I feel like I am fucked when it wears off

so I either choke down pills on gag reflex, or suffer through terrible 30 mins of pain...

I had my tonsils and adenoids removed, as well as tubes put in my ears when I was 6.

I had plastic surgery on my eyelid when I was 3 because I hit my eye/face on the side of a chair running to the door.

I also had a big ass fucking wart on my left big toe that had to be iced off. It didn't actually go away for 3 or 4 years after getting it.



Other than that, no broken bones, no severe, near death cases for me. What I will say though is that I remember when I had my tonsils and adenoids removed, because I couldn't eat or drink anything for about 4 days. I had taken about an hour to 2 hours to drink one of those Capri Sun juice pouches and couldn't have anything else. It was pretty awesome though, because I had the surgery in the beginning of December 2005, and missed school for 2 weeks. When I was ready to go back, winter break started and I didn't have to go back to school until the 6th or so of January.

I was able to choke down some pain meds, and get some sleep, but by the time I woke up, my local anaesthetics haven't worn off, and they said it should be all worn off within 2-4 hours after appointment? (At least, that's what the post-operative instructions report on.) It's been like 10 hours and it's still all numb... Can't feel any pain in the lip to chin skin region slightly off to my left side, also a small part in the back of my tongue on the left side is still frozen.

so I'm starting to get a bit better from recuperation. Taking less pain killers, not bleeding anymore, eating harder foods, but still having a bit of concern.

Multiple times me & my mom have been fighting over stuff that's been happening that wasn't defined in the post-surgery directions, and my mother wasn't taking notes on what to do after the surgery when I was finished (I was far gone, wasn't paying too much attention to what people were saying). She was arguing about how they never told her that they put stitches in my mouth for one of the teeth holes, until I called them up and they were able to verify that I did in-fact get stitches. Now, my mother is holding me back from calling them again because it feels like part of my chin & skin underneath my bottom lip is still frozen by local anesthetics, and its been 4 days since the surgery, and local anesthetics were supposed to wear off within 2-4 hours of the surgery.

Has anyone had their freezing last longer than 2-4 hours after the surgery, and if it did, how long did it last for? Because I'm starting to think worst-case scenario nerve damages in that area now... me and my phobias *shrug*

That's not freezing. That's your IAN (inferior alveolar nerve) healing from the operation. It's pretty normal to have some numbness in the area around the lower lip and chin shortly after the surgery. It goes away it 99% of cases. There's an extremely small risk of it being permanent and your surgeon should have discussed this with you prior to surgery.
