We talked about this movie so much in English when we were dealing with censorship. It's a movie that shows some things that happend on 9/11 that haven't been publically known. Like how just as it was ordered that there would be no flying in or out of the US, Bush smuggled Bin Laden's family back to Afghanistan from the states. How Bush actually knew that there might be a terrorist attack but did nothing to prevent it.

This was originally supposed to be published by Disney but they were afraid of what could happen to them by publishing a movie that deals with such political events. They turned it down and some lesser known company is publishing it now. The movie won't be shown in large theaters if I hear correctly so if you want to see it you're going to have to hunt for it.

Or just rent it when it comes out on video, like Bowling for Columbine did.

Mirmax was going to publish it (division of Disney) but Disney dropped it due to its "Anti-Bush" message since Disneyworld is in Florida and Florida is run by Jeb Bush. But it all got worked out and it will be in Big theaters, I believe.

I will see it for sure. But Michael Moore gets on my nerves a little. Bush is one end of the spectrum, Moore is the opposite. Though I agree with Moore more (LAUGH) a lot of his views are radical.

I won't see it in theaters because I think Michael Moore's a jackass. I don't think Fahrenheit 911 will be worth much because of how incredible (as in "not credible") Moore is. He staged several interviews for Bowling for Columbine, so how are we to believe anything in this new movie is for real?

That aside, I just think many of his ideas are idiotic. Bowling for Columbine was largely about gun control, to which I am vehemently opposed. He also tried to demonize Roger [forgot his last name] in Roger and Me for doing legitimate business practices, thereby denouncing our economic system. Then, he goes and spouts all sorts of excrement, turning the Academy Awards into the Michael Moore show. I just can't believe him.

Now, there's a good reason why I said I wouldn't see this movie in theaters. I want to make my statement to Michael Moore that I don't want to see his movie simply by not going to see it; people who are trying to get theaters to not show this movie are doing Moore a service by giving him attention. It's sad that whenever people go to the public media to talk about how big of an idiot this guy is, they only give him more hype. However, I will rent this movie when it comes out on video, because I am slightly interested in the bullshit that this movie will undoubtedly contain.

Well, I guess this saves me from making a similar post in the critical thinking forum. =)

Michael Moore is suck a hypocrite though. I can't stand watching the guy. He throws on a baseball cap and a t-shirt, and thinks he can relate to the common man, and criticizes large businesses, when really, he's a multi-millionaire. There is a movie bashing him coming out at the same time. www.michaelmoorehatesamerica.com They try to interview him, and he pulls the same deal that those he tries to interview does, he declines. I'll still end up seeing Fahrenheit 911, but probably downloaded. I'm not giving in to that lard ass and giving him my money, which is exactly what he wants.

Wow. I did a few minutes of research after reading MrH's post, and I get words out of Michael Moore's own mouth proving that he's an idiot:

We all know that Michael Moore is anti-large corporations and their business practices, so he's for the little guys, right?

"Fuck all these small businesses - fuck 'em all! Bring in the chains. The small businesspeople are the rednecks that run the town and suppress the people. Fuck 'em all. That's how I feel."
--http://www.arcataeye.com/top/020312top02.shtml [the newspaper for the town in which he spoke]

...Just...wow...What a great idea, Michael, destroy our booming economy and turn us into socialist France.

And what about the main staple of Fahrenheit 911 about Bush flying some bin Ladens out of the country in the days after 9/11?

"[Former white house counter-terrorism expert and Bush critic Richard] Clarke recently admitted that he alone approved the exit of the bin Laden kin."

                        and

"The decision to approve the flights, Clarke admitted last week, had been his own. The request 'didn't get any higher than me,' he told The Hill .
'On 9-11, 9-12 and 9-13, many things didn't get any higher than me. I decided it in consultation with the FBI,' Clarke said of the plane flight carrying bin Laden's relatives."

But anyway...that MMHA link was pretty good. That's a movie that I'd like to see, even though Moore wouldn't even be interviewed for it. Of course, he avoided talking to Ray Bradbury, from whom he stole the title of his movie without consulting him. That's Moore for you...

The MMHA trailer implicates that Michael Moore takes things out of context, yet looking at the Fahrenheit 911 trailer, he seems to be putting things into context... especially with the closing scene with Bush.
