Do piano lessons help rhythm gaming?

It's been a while since I've been on the FFR forums... (I'm on hiatus yet again).
But anyway, onto my question.

Do piano lessons help rhythm gaming, and if so, how?

I've quite recently started piano lesson 4-5 months ago and I was just wondering if there's any benefit of playing the piano in relation with rhythm gaming in general.

FFR will measure your rhythm better than the piano will, unless you have an excellent, excellent ear. But even given that, you'll probably be more focussed on making something sound musical than perfectly even.

If anything, rhythm gaming will help you with piano lessons, not the other way around.

was already AAA'ing VCs within two or three months of playing the game and I attribute that to having played piano for ten years prior

it would help a little bit with dexterity, and i learned that curling your fingers saves a lot of stamina.
overall though there's no substitute for the real thing, and that works both ways

i play piano and because of it i can hit trickier bracket patterns in 6 key easier

more noticeable in my right hand. i am left handed but the right hand does more melodic stuff than the left usually playing piano. helps finger dexterity.

also playing drums made mini jacks easy because of double stroke rolls.

i practiced marimba for two hours prior to getting my fluke dungeon.1 score

If anything, rhythm gaming will help you with piano lessons, not the other way around.

Please don't limit rhythm gaming down to just stepmania because a good portion of you seem to be doing that. I will say piano lessons benefit beatmania play by a shit ton. My example is look how fast cetaka got good.

that's not fair i played piano for about 10 years before playing this damn game and after 2 or 3 months i couldn't even read like high 30's properly
