    SNES is no more. But...

I have a job now. This job requires me to work weekends, and rotating schedules, which means I get 2 days off per week, and I won't know until a week before what days those 2 days are. I can't request off every Saturday night, especially for something like an Internet radio show. It's still a job, but unfortunately it's volunteer work. Meaning I can't keep up this every Saturday night gig.

Meaning, SNES is no more. However, I've talked with Spook about this, and he agreed that i can just host my show whatever night of the week i'm off and able to host it. So my next radio show will be....Tuesday, June 15. I'm glad I'm able to stay on the radio, I'm just sorry I have to give up the cool acronym and regular timeslot.

I'm currently soliciting suggestions for a show name.

Thanks for your support and for listening,

    -Chardish

I consider people who play other people's music, like radio dj's and such, "fake" DJ's (hence why I titled myself "FakeDJ Arch0wl" once). I consider people like Spook or Pandable or Paul Van Dyk or whatnot "real" DJ's. Then there's the IIDX players who put DJ infront of their name just because. =| Those people are just wannabes.

                  there's DJ's, and there's musical jockeys.

DJ's are actively scratching and mixing at all times, talking to the people at intervals and keepin the party happy-like.

musical jockeys are the people who have two turn tables and a microphone... and dont really use them for much else besides playing song after song after song, not really giving a crap whether or not the party is successful or not, and usually not very talkative.

Uh IIDX forces you to put DJ in front of your tag. Like my DDR scoretag is CDSH. If I put that on IIDX, it would be DJ CDSH.

And here's the way I look at it. Someone who works at a radio station playing music is a DJ. "What's your job?" "Oh I'm a DJ at the radio station."

But because many people think like Arch, you'll note that I never call myself "DJ Chardish" except sometimes in jest, or self-mockery. And I signed my email "FFR Radio Host" not "FFR Radio DJ" for that very reason.

                          dictionary.com is WRONG! =P

they dont even have a definition for musical jockey, i bet.

my mental dictionary is more logical.

DJs who play other people's music simply do that because other people's music are better than theirs. Nothing wrong with that, is there?

no, not at all! i just prefer to separate THEM from the people who work hard and deserve the title of a DJ.
