Of course we have issues, but if snowcrafta hadn't come in with all these pictures, I almost could have predicted a bandwagoning trend following nyokou's incredibly insightful and intelligent post of "but... was it ever really?" with posts similar because as usual, people are afraid to be seen on the side of support for the United States because it has been a trend for so long now to side with that viewpoint, and with nothing to back it up other than "lol murrica" and whatnot. That's what is annoying.

I agree with a lot of the pictures, ironically. I love just about everything to do with this country, and people who hate on it drive me nuts. Canada is right across the boarder if you're really so inclined to leave.

Otherwise, if you're going to live here, be proud of where you live. Our country is fantastically wealthy, diverse, safe, and huge amounts of freedom to go around. People abuse the freedom, but that's only a small minority

we're not even the best when it comes to freedom

the only things we could be considered "best" in are amount of religious people and amount of people in prison

Okay, anyone with a third grade education could have told me that. If I wanted to argue America with someone who has downs, I would have hit you up on Facebook.

We have religious people because they are free to practice how they want. Is the Midwest and south an accurate representation of American values? In a way, yes. But our driving force behind our exponential wealth is almost entirely coastal city based. Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, LA, San Diego, Miami, Washington DC, New York are all major players in the reason why we're as wealthy and advanced of a country as we are.

We have flaws, nobody ever said we didn't. But please, if you can name a country that is perfect and has 100% approval rating, let me know. In the meantime, suck it up because we both know you have no intention of leaving this great country.

Not with an American third grade education, as the majority of children in public education are under-performing in every aspect.

And to be quite honest, it's appalling that they represent America at all.

I'm not doubting we're the wealthiest country in the world, but that's certainly not shown in distribution of wealth.

Being the most advanced country, that's debatable. If you mean in terms of technology, then sure. But Japan and India are closing in. If you mean in any other sense of the word, not even close.

I hope you're not implying that America fits this criteria.
I hope you're not implying that any country can fit this criteria.
But for the sake of argument, I'll go ahead and bite:
Norway, Australia, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, Iceland, Denmark, Slovenia, Finland, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, and Belgium.

In the meantime, suck it up because we both know you have no intention of leaving this great country.
You're right. I have no intentions of leaving a great country. But it's not the greatest.

A whole breakdown, haven't had that happen in awhile.

All of your "points" are moot, and just about as generic "Let's hate on America!" As they get.

The only point worth arguing at all is the Bible Belt point. The whole reason we have these idiots running around is because we allow them to do it. WBC is allowed to be dicks because it's a protected right, and they decided to use it.

One thing I really hate is people who look at the country as a whole. Arguing about the amount of bible belters and the amount of people in prison? Last I checked, you live in Nevada, well over 2,000 miles away from the Bible Belt, and you aren't affected by the amount of people in prison because

                              A.) you're white
                              B.) you don't commit crimes

It's people who try to argue things outside of their scope of life who drive me nuts. Do you care if BART goes on strike and suddenly 600,000 commuters have to find alternate transportation? Of course not, it doesn't affect you. Argue points that make a difference in your own life, not a blanket statement.

where tax dollars get spent affects everyone

Like really, if you're going to say 'only talk about things that affect you personally' there is nothing to talk about and we might as well all just blindly follow what those above us tell us to do.
The ability to understand how one thing effects another indirectly or directly is practically the defining characteristic of intelligence.
If we do not look at things on a larger scope then we're purposefully blinding ourselves.
