I did a rather large report on D-Day (and the planning and the impact) as well.

The number at Omaha was about 2400, I think. Fewer than 300 at Utah, but only cause they missed the landing point by 2000 yards. Next worst was Juno, at about 1200. The other two, gold and Sword, had about 600 and 400 respectively. I think. Maybe both 600.

But, If anybody wants to know something about it, Ask me. Or Lupin, of course.

One other known fact that i found out yesterday:

The beach that the Canadian Forces hit, was the only beach to complete its objective sucessfully. I don't know what beach it was, but that's a fact.

Juno. And it wasnt the whole beach, it was one division of Hussars from the beach.

Pretty pitiful that so few objectives were completed.

Also all the higher ranking Division leaders had gone left the area for rest, they had no idea the attack was coming, during the attack they tried to relay a message to Hitler so they'd be allowed to deploy their Panzer's tanks against the allied invasion but he was sleeping and everyone was too scared to wake him up. D-Day was a quite amazing day and thankfully they stormed the beach succesfully or else I might not exist or be speaking German and working for 2 cents a month in a communistic fascist world. Also about WW2 if Japan had resisted us for about 1-2 years longer they would have developed Bombers to reach America and back and jet engines airplanes that would annihilate our bombers and fighters. They would have developed submarines that could deploy an airplane with all kinds of bombs strapped to it to fly suicidally into a ship most likely sinking it.

I really don't see why people think D-Day was so important in winning WWII. If you look at how it actually worked, Hitler had about 20 divisions sent in North Africa and France combined. How many were sent against the Russians? 200. Also, Russia was already advancing very quickly into German territory, and also the invasion in Italy was hitting Hitler in the south. Personally, I think Stalingrad, Moscow, and Kursk were infinatly more imporant than D-Day, and a good deal bloodier too. I sort of see it as D-Day is America's excuse to say they won the war when it was really between Germany and Russia.

Because of Hitler, the economy was booming and unemployment was at its lowest in years. In fact, Adolf Hitler was Time's man of the year in 1933.

Oh, and Japan was out of the war long before they surrendered. Their navy and best pilots were gone, and we were bombing the hell out of cities everyday. What you say depends upon at what point of their defeat that they held their resistance.

By the way, A teacher in a neighboring town was just suspended from her job and may lose it because she was discussing the positive impact of Adolf Hitler. A bunch of kids refused to go to class, and many parents pulled their kids out of the class for teaching such an "evil" thing. What a bunch of ignorant people. Adolf Hitler was one of the best leaders that ever lived, the only problem was that many of his ideas were perverted.

Adolf Hitler was also a really bad stategist.

I heard that the Americans invaded France (and reconqueired Europe) because the Russians where advancing very fast, and if the would of reconquiered all of Europe, they would be the worlds most powerful nation.

                  Uhm.

No. Considering the Russian Advance was planned alongside D-Day (to my knowledge), probably at Tehran, I'd have to say that is BS.

And Lupin, that's cause he wasn'y the dictator yet in 1933, exactly, just Chancellor. 'Course, he was politically important then. To the Max. Etc.

Oh, and did you know that Hitler wasn't really intent on warring with America? He was forced to becuase another Axis member, the Japanese, Bombed Pearl Harbor. Funny how that works. Then, he said we'd live 1000 years of pain. Worked himself up, he did.

I dont know where I was going with this, but it doesnt really matter.

                    haha gotta love Juno beach...

haha each Canadian soldier took a bicycle when they were advancing onto the beaches. They later realized that thousands of soldiers on bikes isn't too practical.
