    Re: coming out

I am super late to this, but the support from everybody here has been overwhelming. I read through every post on a subway trip yesterday, and by the time I got off I was grinning ear to ear. Thank you for the advice, the stories, and the encouragement.

To answer the questions some people raised: 1) I have never had any sexual experience, but I do know what stimulates me, and 2) I'm not sure where the division between bisexuality and homosexuality is, but if it helps, I do prefer the male form. That said, it's not like I find girls unappealing or anything. I'm still unsure about a lot of this, but hopefully talking about it will open it up. Or maybe I'll have to search for the rest of my life. Either way's fine by me.

In any case, you guys are all amazing and I feel proud to be part of such a caring community. <3

Yeah, I'm 19 and I feel the exact same way.

Like kommi said, misconception...all gays don't just sleep around with each other. Just like all straight people don't just sleep around all the time. simple as that.

Although I wonder if just letting loose every once in a while instead of being in a relationship to experience things wouldn't be all that bad...

Either way, moches, I really hope everything goes well for you. PLEASE keep us updated on this, I don't like cliffhangers :P

Also, PrawnSkunk, I completely understand how you feel, since I've also said I've never had to be in the circumstances my buddy is in, even if i am gay, I got lucky. I really hope he does get her to see that it's him, and he can't just change it, and it's not a problem...but his sister is a young super catholic, brainwashed to think these things early.

i dont envy your parental situation, that's a tough call bud. of course no one knows them/your relationship with them/how they're likely to react better than you do, so weigh all sides. best of luck, proud of u

              Re: coming out

moches, just wanted to mention that if you respect a woman, share similar interests, have her as friend and feel relatively close to each others. It doesn't make you bisexual. It just means you have a very good friend who's a woman. If you're both making eye contact and are willing to get more far, then that's another story. There's no particular grey area on this, but there's a chance you simply don't know about it yet.

/in b4 maybe she's just not his type but if that was the case, most of the above wouldn't apply.

                Re: coming out

i don't get why people have such a hard time coming out about being homosexual or bisexual or whatever. I mean i do understand that it's because people chastise them for it but god damn why does that have to happen? why can't people just deal with it?

makes me angry. don't worry moches, you got sensible people in your life and here for you.

If ya gonna make a joke, it's got to be somewhere where the topic of the joke isn't important to the context of the thread. If this joke was posted somewhere else where it was slightly relevant, then this would've slide. In this thread though...

                          Naw... not at all.

it's weird, but I actually have an easier time getting to know girls than getting to know guys. maybe it's because my interests/personality tend to skew towards more feminine characteristics.

but you're right, I'm not exactly sure. isn't the barometer basically about sexual attraction, though? I'm attracted to both girls and guys, but I'm not sure if it's in the same way or if there's different traits to each that I appreciate...yeah, this is getting rambly. I guess I just have a lot to sort out.
