I would, but the first post in this thread has had "so-and-so is looking for one more person to room with!" for a solid month. I don't think we have any takers at this point. thanks for the idea though hahah.

potential misinformation from someone who's never been to AN: I think the ticket they emailed us will work, regardless of the day.

The "ticket" emailed to you needs to be printed out and brought with you for pass/badge pickup—that isn't actually the pass/badge you need.
So yes, you do need to line up. If you pre-registered though, pre-registration pickup is open Thursday night starting at 5pm up until 9pm. Friday's and Saturday's lineups are ridiculously long, so good luck with the wait.
If you would prefer to avoid the lineup all together on Friday/Saturday, what you could do is email someone you can trust (who will be attending the Thursday night pre-reg) that ticket PDF and have them pickup your passes for you. This way you avoid the time wasted individually lining up, and you just have to meetup with that person to grab your passes on Friday or whenever.

Anime North 2013 Attendee Info
To all attendees for Anime North 2013, we are looking forward to seeing you at the con, and would like to give you a quick reminder on the Registration check-in procedure when you first arrive at the con so that it goes as smoothly as possible.
Please read over the following information clearly.
We have made improvements at Registration to try to avoid the problems we had last year, when we had difficulty processing the large number of attendees who arrived on Friday. We will do our best to process everyone in a reasonable time and your patience will be appreciated.
We also advise all attendees to keep an eye on the weather forecast, and bring bottled water if it is going to be warm.
Registration Procedure at Anime North
As you have pre-registered, you should have received an email from Eventbrite with an attached .PDF file and a weblink that will allow you to access the .PDF file online. This file is your official Anime North confirmation. Print out a copy and bring it with you to the Registration Desk when you first arrive at the convention.
Make sure your confirmation is clearly printed out in regular sized paper, B&W is preferred, to ensure its barcode can be clearly scanned. We will accept admissions displayed on mobile electronic devices, but we prefer printed forms as our scanning procedure is optimized around this.
The Registration Desk will be located in the Toronto Congress Center just inside the main entrance doors of Hall F on the West side of the building, about two-thirds of the way down from Dixon Road. It will be open from:
Friday: 1PM – 9 PM (We reserve the right to cap the lineup at 8PM)
Saturday: 9AM - 7PM
Sunday: 9:30AM - 3PM
Please have your confirmation form in hand when you arrive at the Registration Desk, There, the staff will scan the barcode on the confirmation form to make sure it is a valid admission and that it has not been used before. They will give you your Anime North convention badge, which you will write your full name on. Your Program Book, Pocket Program, and lanyard will be available for pickup at a table to the side of Registration.
Photo ID is not required, but is good idea to bring along just in case there are any problems with your admission.
All members of Anime North are required to wear an Anime North convention badge at the con, as proof that you have purchased a membership and are entitled to attend all the convention's functions. Attendees are required to print their full names on the badges.
If you have preordered T-Shirts or special event tickets; you should have received individual confirmations for them. These confirmations can be used to pick them up at:
Brunch Tickets: will be available at the Registration desk
T-Shirts: will be available at the Merchandise desk, in Hall D of the TCC
Moonlight Ball tickets: will be available at the Moonlight Ball Desk, located next to the Con Aid Desk in the TCC.
Café Nocture: Event managers will have attendee names on a list and will check you off at the door of the event
If you have not received or lost your confirmation forms, your name will be listed and you can pick up your convention badges or merchandise with Photo ID. This will take longer than regular scanning, so we urge all attendees to check to make sure they bring their forms. Contact [email protected] if you are missing yours, but please check to make certain first that you cannot find it.
Attendees can also pick up badges for friends, if they bring their confirmation forms with them.
Thursday Night Pre-Registration Check-In
Anime North will also be having a Pre-Registration only check-in Thursday night, May 23 to allow attendees who have pre-registered to pick up their convention badges and registration packets ahead of time.
Note: this year it is being held in Hall F of the Toronto Congress Centre instead of the Doubletree Hotel as in previous years.
Registrations to Anime North 2013 will NOT be sold at this event. It is for pre-registered attendees only.
The check-in will run from 5PM - 9PM in Hall F of the Toronto Congress Centre. We reserve the right to cap the lineup at 8PM to ensure we close in a reasonable time.
Brunch and Moonlight Ball tickets will be available for pickup, and a limited number of Moonlight Ball tickets will be available for sale. There will also be a Weapons Check desk open.
Any convention function not specifically mentioned here will not be available Thursday night. The con does not officially start until Friday and most departments will still be in the early stages of setup.
Attendees can also pick up badges for friends if they bring their Confirmation forms. Note that once you do, you are responsible for getting the badges to them; they cannot pick up another from the Registration Desk.
Group Leader Pickup for Thursday Night
Group Leaders (who have purchased group registrations) can pick up his/hers group's badges and registration packets Thursday night, if he brings his/her own confirmation form to identify him as a group leader.
We are group leaders to bring the confirmation forms of all the group members they are picking up convention forms for, whether they are picking up for some or all of their group, so they can be scanned into our database. Forms can be printed double-sided; we just need to scan their barcodes, and do not need individual sheets for each confirmation.
could I crash somewhere just for this Thursday night? doesn't necessarily have to be close to AN. just need a bed/mattress/floor/bathtub to sleep on. can pay $$$.
