Summary The McCain-Palin campaign accuses ACORN, a community activist group that operates nationwide, of perpetrating "massive voter fraud." It says Obama has “long and deep” ties to the group. We find both claims to be exaggerated. But we also find Obama has understated the extent of his work with the group. Neither ACORN nor its employees have been found guilty of, or even charged with, casting fraudulent votes. What a McCain-Palin Web ad calls "voter fraud"

also it's not about "getting illegals to vote." Voter suppression is all about trying to keep people from voting by playing dirty with socioeconomic pressures / voting trends.

Plenty of poor (and legal) citizens get their voting ability shafted by needless financial obstacles put in place for no real purpose, with the typical excuse being "otherwise voter fraud!" even though the evidence is tenuous at best and projection at worst.

~11% of voters lack government-issue ID. this is disproportionately the elderly, students and minorities. actual, in-person voter fraud is vanishingly uncommon (there's hardly evidence that it occurs AT ALL, because of the sheer inconvenience and insignificance of it), but it is perpetuated as a conspiracy theory that threatens the Very Fabric Of Our Democratic Nation nonetheless.

voter ID laws seem plausible and arguably ethically okay to pass for future elections. what arose literally *months* before this past one was simple discrimination and vote-thinning. (which do you find more reprehensible: that four or five people vote who are illegals or out of their district, or that *hundreds of thousands* of valid votes are blocked to prevent that from happening?)

Actually, I'd say that the falsifying of the results of votes is a huge deal that should disqualify the responsible group from being elected. I haven't seen evidence of any vote-counting fraud on the Democratic side that was large enough to push the results of an election one way or the other.

i think republicans deserve to be openly bashed and drug out into the open more than democrats because the simple fact is that their policies are ones that only bullies, assholes, and privileged overfed fat fucks would make. democrats still stab you in the back, but at least they're more friendly about it.

You do have to realize that both sides have people that are not informed well and just vote for superficial and/or lateral reasons. It's just that Republicans are more passionate about it. Then once you get confirmation bias and how it affects politicians it's no surprise that they act that way. You would too Aldentron.
