Ouch, I'd offer you a place to crash but there's only one person I know that's within driving distance to my place and I doubt anyone else is. Anyways, being homeless in itself is nothing to be ashamed of, people make mistakes all the time and sometimes they get stuck in shitty situations. Just realize that there are two types of homeless people in my belief:
(1): The ones that are homeless that are making an effort to not be homeless anymore
(2): The ones that are homeless that just don't give a shit anymore and spend all their money (whenever they get any) on alcohol and shit.

Oh, and I forgot the third one
(3): The ones that are homeless but are planning to depend entirely upon government money for the rest of their lives so they can get out of homelessness and so they can spend the rest of the money that tax-payers pay on drugs and alcohol and so they can use their food stamps and crab and lobster.

So as long as you're making an effort to get out of this situation, it's nothing to be ashamed of. Just don't become a number (2) and please for the love of god don't become a number (3).

I'm sorry to hear about that I hope it works out. I was homeless for 3 months before and it was pretty horrible. Getting showers in was the worse, I usually had a place to couch surf but every now and then I would be outside. Just keep your head up and when you have a place to live again life will be amazing

aldentron made a couple good points to a previous user in your situation right now, but ill try to give you some advice anyway. first, you know anyone that you're really cool with? crash at their place for a couple days, you know just be like "hey bro im homeless now, can i please stay at your place" or something like that. secondly, look for change EVERYWHERE. you can seriously find some loot if you're vigilant about it, and that change can buy you food. if you cant stay at a friends place, try to crash at an abandoned building although do make sure it's truly abandoned and not a heroin alley or something. and lastly, keep your head up. being homeless sucks obviously but at least you're breathing. that's all the advice i can part with you, but im sure you can make it out alive from this

Man that really stinks. I would totally offer you a place to stay til you get out of this mess but youre a couple hours away.

A friend of mine just got back into town from traveling/bumming around the southeastern portion of the states. He said that spanging (asking people for money) is more profitable in small towns, and location is a key. E.g. outside of a church on a Sunday. SPANGE ALL THAT YOU CAN. That's free money, you're in a shitty position, take advantage of it. DON'T SMOKE OUT OF ANY ONES PIPE. If you try to catch a train somewhere, there are chances you might get manhandled by train yard thugs, other bums, etc.
To be successfully homeless you must be truly humble. I've met quite a few people who live as transients, with no home, just constantly exploring and meeting new people and barely getting by on the hospitality of others. Did you get evicted or what?

I wasn't evicted, kicked out or anything of the sort. I was renting a room at my friends place for about a year and a half. Early August I found out they couldn't afford the rent on the place anymore so they decided to move somewhere cheaper. They found a place very cheap further up north from the previous location, about 2 hours away. Funny thing is, I was more than welcome to go with them... But I couldn't. I didn't want to. The time I've spent there for the first few months were fine, but it started to become uncomfortable, unbearable. A lot of... Family events occurred in my presence, and my friend/roomate started to become a dick basically. And I don't mean that in any petty way, it was pretty bad. Lets just say... He's always had anger issues and living with him, I've seen how terrible he can become. He had a job, lost it for an incredibly dumb reason, and was jobless since December(still is and put barely any effort in finding another). He just sat at home on the ****in computer all day, asking me to buy him shit for some game, smoking all of my weed while I was at work, doing my ****ing job, or while I'm asleep, since he stays up all night doing what he does all day. Screw the whole "what's mine is yours" bullshit. The mom and dad are no better... I've said enough regarding that. I became sick of it. It didn't feel like I was home in months, it was just a place to lay my head when I was tired. It was time for me to leave a long ass time ago, but it was my fault as well for cornering myself in such a situation. Icing on the cake, where I'm residing now just happens to be my ex girlfriends place... PLEASE, PLEASE DONT ASK. I'm staying here until I can enlist myself in a local shelter. I have my reasons why I'm not moving back with any of my relatives. I feel so useless at this point, I want to bash my head against the wall. These are all reasons why I've become a little distant from the ffr community; not that I was busy(I'm never busy LOL), but I'm not happy with anything. At all. The only thing keeping me sane is my guitar, my music, and skateboarding. It distracts me from thinking about all of this bullshit at once. With all of that being said... I strangely don't feel worried about my well being in the future.

Also, this is, and forever will be, the longest post on any forum I ever posted lol. I've said enough. At least I still have my job, right?

Just avoid them, the people there don't give a **** about you and will steal the shirt off your back.

I was homeless a couple months back and then I got on a bus to go live with my mother in my hometown for a bit and got set up with an apartment a few weeks later.
