This is just for fun -- spitballing ideas. It can be as far into the future as you'd like.
My own wishes:
Future of internet connection:
1. At some point, we're going to get (something like) Google Goggles as the norm (augmented reality in our glasses), which will eventually wrap up the functionality of modern-day smartphones.
2. But this will likely upgrade into contact lenses
3. And, eventually, into neural interfacing that is fueled from your own natural biochemistry
Future of biochemistry:
1. Bioanalysis mechanisms (no need to go get checkups from doctors) that will give you real-time analysis of your blood and other bodily functions
2. Gene sequencing
3. Eventually I do think we'll be able to do mechanical biointerfacing like we see in Deus Ex: Human Revolution
4. Organ regrowth
5. Genetic engineering similar to what we see in Gattaca
Future of Religion:
1. Hahahahahaha, this shit's gone
Computers:
1. Moore's Law comes up to an abrupt end once we brush up against HUP
2. Molecular computing
3. Quantum computing
4. In general, everything will be computerized. Things like kitchen appliances and clothing will have the ability to provide computerized information feedback.
Artificial Intelligence:
1. We'll be able to brute-compute the neural network of the brain (as the Blue Brain Project is currently trying to do) and, in turn, be able to simulate its underlying subroutines.
2. Once certain macros are established, a lot of otherwise human-based manual gruntwork will be replaced with AI.
Civilization:
1. I genuinely have no idea if we'll ever make it to a Type I civilization (total control over our planet and its processes), but I imagine so unless we get ourselves killed by then.
2. FTL travel's a bitch. I don't know if we'll ever figure out a good way to travel around our galaxy, let alone travel to other galaxies.
There are tons more that I think will be likely but I'd like to hear from you guys
