Re: lets get to know the FFR community~

    - First off could you introduce yourself? let everyone know your first name, age, and the city/state/country that you live in?

i'm Morgan. I'm 17 and live in Mississippi (Jackson during summers, Columbus during everything else). There's really not much to do here, so I entertain myself with the internet.
I'll more than likely be entering a Chinese Fluency program within the next year, where I learn the Chinese language over the course of 5 years, spending an entire year of my college life taking classes and internships over in China.
I also have a 33 on the ACT, which is pretty cool.

    - What does a typical day for you consist of?

volunteer work, finding new music to listen to, drinking a lot, experimenting with cocktails, taking care of my 3 younger sisters, thinking up jokes, tinkering will cellphones and cooking

    - Video games aside, do you have any hobbies? play any instruments?

i like to write and study/find music. on the writing front, i used to do lots of poetry but kinda grew out of that, so i stick to a weird pseudo-surreal internet comedy style these days. made a bit of a name for myself on the internet scene. at some point in my life i hope to do full-on standup. working on that though.

with music, I typically spend my days browsing soundcloud accounts and various music blogs, within (specifically) EDM, Sludge Metal and experimental beat music trying to find what's next and what to show people.

other things- i like tinkering with technology, especially android phones and the like. few things more satisfying than toying around with something and being successful

    - How long have you been playing FFR/stepmania, and how often do you play in a week?

since late 2006, usually play anywhere around 20 times a week because the game helps me relax.

    - Could you let everyone know what settings you use for FFR/stepmania? (engine, keys, speed mod, up/downscroll ect.)

FFR: i don't really play but when i do, velocity, askl, 2.1, up,

SM: 3.95, askl, c850 or so, upscroll, distant view, Midare++ or Orbular depending on my mood

    - Do you have any warmup routines, or have any silly/odd way of warming up before you play?

vibrate on any surface you can whenever you get bored throughout the day even if you're not gonna play stepmania any time soon. play without distractions. nothing much else

    - What are some of your notable FFR/SM achievements you have accomplished that you are most proud of?

AAAAed WC's clipo file, Vatstep DSP FC, Death Piano Oni pass, single digit greats on Kommi's Saddest RMX file, Crowdpleaser FC

    - Do you have any personal FFR/SM goals you have set for yourself?

not really lmao, it's just a game. i like to have stepping goals but even then i end up just drinking and stepping minedumps

      - First off could you introduce yourself? let everyone know your first name, age, and the city/state/country that you live in?

      ASL ASL ASL ASL
I'm 19, living in Colorado Springs, CO with the fires~
If you don't know my name, then....lol gg

      - What does a typical day for you consist of?
Day I work - Get up, shower, eat, leave for work, get home and shower, get on comp, go to bed
Day I don't work - Get up whenever, shower, do things I need to get done, hang out with people, or get on computer, etc

      - Video games aside, do you have any hobbies? play any instruments?
I don't play instruments, but I do have a few hobbies. I collect stuff, some more seriously than others. I have card collections, a stamp collection, and a currency collection. The currency collection and my Pokemon card collection are actually pretty large. I'm addicted to music, dunno if you could call that a hobby though since I can't really produce music well at all. Other than that it's just mostly vgames and friends that take up the rest of my free time.

      - How long have you been playing FFR/stepmania, and how often do you play in a week?
I play some sort of rhythm game (ts, ffr, sm) usually at least once a day (playing, not one song a day) unless I work a retarded long shift at work and don't feel like playing when I get home. Been on FFR for over 5 years, always have loved it.

      - Could you let everyone know what settings you use for FFR/stepmania? (engine, keys, speed mod, up/downscroll ect.)
I use the Legacy engine, and just recently switched from qw86 to qw89 for my key setup.
Here's some interesting info: I play upscroll, downscroll, and diagonal scroll.
      Upscroll: 2.0-2.1 speedmod
Downscroll: 1.75 speedmod (SDG'd CIA rave, but typically I'm not real great)
Diagonal Scroll: 1.2 speedmod (best AAA is Anubis, have FC'd a few VC's pretty cleanly now)

      - Do you have any warmup routines, or have any silly/odd way of warming up before you play?
Not really, I just kinda start playing and see how things go. Sometimes I will start off on songs that test my stamina just to get my hands moving and adrenaline flowing, but otherwise not really.

      - What are some of your notable FFR/SM achievements you have accomplished that you are most proud of?
      Kidney Stone 2-0-0-2 (lolwut)
      Eclipse (Solar) 13-#-#-#
      grind2 11-1-2-3
      Adventures of Lolo - AAA
and a few other former FGO scores that were just awesome.

      - Do you have any personal FFR/SM goals you have set for yourself?
Not really, I mean I'd like to just get good enough to AAA most FGO's, but lolnotimeormotivation.
I kinda just go with it and my usual goal is: improve scores

Trevor. Lincoln, Nebraska. Turn 21 in August and dreading it. I don't drink and yet my siblings both want to take me barhopping and get me smashed. Not really my idea of a fun birthday.

What does a typical day for you consist of?
Well I'm still going to uni during the summer, so I generally wake up around 8am, go to class from 9am-12:30pm, then smash arrows, watch anime, post on forums, and browse tumblr until I decide to go to bed. The forums I post on are here, GameSpot, and The Daily Happening (a small offshoot community comprised of some of us from GameSpot. It's also where the 'tdhcrwe' in my user title comes from.)

Video games aside, do you have any hobbies? play any instruments?
Used to be active back in high school, but not so much anymore. I'm studying cognitive psychology, so I often end up on Wikipedia reading about how various areas of the brain affect how we perceive the world around us. Also have been learning German for the past year or so.
Ultimate goals (in relation to hobbies/instruments): Become fluent in German, Danish, and Swedish. Pick up piano again. Learn to draw something other than stick figures. Producing music (even if just for my own enjoyment) would be pretty sweet too.

How long have you been playing FFR/stepmania, and how often do you play in a week?
A little over 6 years. Actual time spent destroying my keyboard is right around an hour a day.

Could you let everyone know what settings you use for FFR/stepmania? (engine, keys, speed mod, up/downscroll ect.)
FFR: Velocity engine - everything except Accuracy and Total hidden, WE[] (spread), 2.0x, upscroll, original FFR noteskin
SM: 3.95 with a modified version of the Shalim theme, same key setup, C750, upscroll & overhead, light-note noteskin

Do you have any warmup routines, or have any silly/odd way of warming up before you play?
I actually tend to start off light and work my way up. Will often play a few songs in the 60-65 range.
For SM, I usually play Game Time from Nuclear Blast 4 on 1.2 and then again on 1.3. Maybe throw in Delirium Heavy on 1.6 for good measure.

What are some of your notable FFR/SM achievements you have accomplished that you are most proud of?
FFR: Getting my first two fmo AAAs on Christmas day 2010 was pretty sweet.
SM: Quadding Sewer Surfin (my only quad) and AAAing TOML.

Do you have any personal FFR/SM goals you have set for yourself?
FFR: AAA a former fgo. Getting my avrank down to under 50. Currently, I'm just trying to FC an 85+.
SM: Really don't have any. Though lately I've been having the urge to pick up the art of stepping.

Re: lets get to know the FFR community~

          Bandwagon~ ^_^

First off could you introduce yourself? let everyone know your first name, age, and the city/state/country that you live in?

Name's cameron, I'm 19 and currently living in North Wales, Pennsylvania. Not much to say about where I live except its boring and its one of those sex 'n' drugs towns.

What does a typical day for you consist of?

Basically I'll wake up at 7:30 about 5-6 days a weeks, then drive 5 minutes to the gas station i work at. I'll spend 8-10 hours running the registers, lottery machines, stocking shelves / coolers, fixing gas pumps, handling deliveries, stupid shit. Then i'll come home at 6:15, depending on the day i'll go to my dojo and teach martial arts classes from 6-9. I rarely have time for any sort of computer / TV, especially FFR or SM nowadays. It's a shame. D":

Video games aside, do you have any hobbies? play any instruments?

I'm usually in my room doing something related to music (listening, playing, or writing) or texting as many as 20 people at once, "shooting the shit". I play guitar, bass, drums, flute, violin, and vocals. I also am currently in my 6th year of learning German. Ultimate goals regarding these is to be able to play classical piano pieces such as Chopin's Minute Waltz, La Campanella, and Carl Phillippe Emmanuel Bach's "Solfeggietto" at 250 bpm 16th notes. Currently my fastest played speed of this is at 220 bpm 16th notes.

How long have you been playing FFR/stepmania, and how often do you play in a week?

I've been playing FFR for just under a year, and stepmania for about 3 years. In a week, i used to play around 100 hours, now i play about 5 hours a week at best.

Could you let everyone know what settings you use for FFR/stepmania? (engine, keys, speed mod, up/downscroll ect.)

FFR: R^2 engine, 12-90 spread at 2.27x, upscroll with accuracy on.
SM: XI Distortion them, 12-90 spread (123-890 for solo style) . C610 or x2.5 depending on the song, upscroll with distant receptors and metal noteskin.

Do you have any warmup routines, or have any silly/odd way of warming up before you play?

FFR: I'll usually warm up with Dev/null files and high difficulty classical files, especially La Camp and Grand Galop Chromatique. I'll do lots of knuckle cracking and wrist contortions too.

SM: I just play solo to warm up.

What are some of your notable FFR/SM achievements you have accomplished that you are most proud of?

FFR: Getting my first VC AAA on Szamar Madar after 3 months of starting, getting Colorful Course AAA'd for the 6th Official as my first FMO AAA. Getting an SDG on Sparkle Downer felt very nice for me too, as well as nailling a RunnyMorning blackflag and various other solid FMO scores.

SM: None to date, I'm a scrub at SM.

Do you have any personal FFR/SM goals you have set for yourself?
          yes
FFR: Oni, Top 8 in the 7th official (if i get placed in D4) , FC'ing an 85+ , Getting a clean score on Frictional Nevada (lol) and too many others.
SM: AAA'in Max 300 Glitch Mix, FC'ing Xepher, FC'ing Shotgun Surgery.

Veronica, 29, Fredericton New Brunswick Canada.

Wake up 5am, lie in bed for 3 hours, wake up bf, make him lunch. In no particular order: play whatever game I'm into, (YPP atm) check forums, browse internet for health info until I get too tired then sit around resting, do a minimal amount of housework without it being disgusting, go shopping for supper. Make supper, eat and watch tv, then hang out with bf playing games, reading, watching shows, excersising, talking, etc.

            - Video games aside, do you have any hobbies? play any instruments?
Not many. I like games of all types. My piano collects more dust than I play. I was in the best local choir that exists this past term, (still not good enough though...). I am not working on my follow up novel to my first unread, unedited one, although I do really want to finish it.
When I'm working I have 0 hobbies, no energy for them, except for drinking. But I can't drink anymore *sigh*, 1 drink gives me a near instand headache since being gluten free.

            - How long have you been playing FFR/stepmania, and how often do you play in a week?
2003? Maybe once a week these days.

            - Could you let everyone know what settings you use for FFR/stepmania? (engine, keys, speed mod, up/downscroll ect.)
Since getting laptop I use E for left and V for down. Perfect spacing for my left hand.

            no
