I would. But, I do live in a hicktown and trucks are where the money is made. No one wants to go 4x4ing down a muddy road in a shitty car to get to work everyday on the rigs.

lern2fix cars instead of selling them once a problem arises. I rebuilt several 308 (v8) engines for my old VX Holden Sedan in 3 years. All of the info you need is available via forums, all of the available tools are found cheap on ebay or through local traders.

Get your hands dirty, car ownership is more than just driving it till you see a hint of trouble...

I've never been interested in fixing cars. It is too much of a hassle...

164xxx aint that much, sure it's relatively high but not excessive. My Honda has 300xxx and is still running. It's also in KMs not miles.

It was Honda though. Older american cars rust and break down after 150k km.

I don't know, my 2000 Pontiac Grand AM is still running strong with 90k Miles.

The only problems I've had with it are the window motors.

Of course I'm referring to kilos. What you need is a vehicle with something like 75,000 km or lower.

@wc: it is a lot when you put long-term considerations into question. Summary: think long-term. Shitty car would be more problematic and cost more in the long run. Don't start off with high or even moderately high mileage.

A lot of hondas still run like a dream past 250xxx

My 2003 civic has 88xxx miles on it and it still feels brand new :3
