It has no use. Mine's stored away some where, never to return to light. No use of it. Nothing to be proud of, every one should graduate high school.

Everyone should graduate high school, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't feel accomplished when the time comes. You're lying if you say you didn't put any work in during your four years. You also survived the gross cafeteria food and avoided punching that annoying kid in the face.

As far as people caring/not caring about it, I think it's not so much that people care if you have a high school diploma so much as they care a great deal about it if you don't. Since it is pretty much expected even for very menial sorts of jobs.

It's not enough to help you on its own, but without it, you're at even worse of a disadvantage, which is why people who didn't graduate high school a lot of times try for their GED equivalent. Not that it helps you so much -- but it puts you at less of a disadvantage. You're still at a disadvantage with only having the high school diploma and/or GED.

More props to the silly-string dude. My brother did a dance step across the stage, received his diploma, then was asked to walk off with "at least a shred of dignity."

Just because nobody asks to see it doesn't mean that this isn't the biggest accomplishment of your life so far. Congratulations to the class of 2012!

I didn't put any work towards it really. Sure I did some of the work the teachers gave me, but none of it was hard or tedious. Never did homework, and never failed a class. One class, one semester I did everything to see if I could get an A. I did, and never did it again. Out of around 600 people, I was number 430? Idk, it was low. And so was my gpa.

Why would you be proud of that? If you actually do need to use your high school diploma for anything, they are going to look at placement and GPA, see that it's low, and what kind of impression do you think they will get? I mean it's better than not having the diploma at all, but yeah. :-/ I hope you have something other than your high school diploma that you're banking on.

Not that it means a lot anyway, but you really don't want to lower your chances for employment these days.

You still could have stayed home every day instead of going to school and taking tests. The bottom line is that you did what was asked of you. Not saying you have to be proud of what you accomplished, but a high school diploma certainly means something, in all cases.
