Oh my god, most random thing ever

So...I'm just sitting on the computer, right? I'm not actually doing anything at the time. The only programs running were Opera, minimized, with no webpage, E-mail with no mail being viewed and minimized, my Palm Desktop minimized, and AOL, minimized, with an away message up. Nothing out of the ordinary running in the background, just Virusscan and my LAN.

When suddenly, my computer makes that sound it does when it's working. Normal, right? Then, without warning, all of my programs begin maximizing and closing. One after another, boom, boom, boom. All my programs close, and my computer shuts down. It didn't crash though, it went through the normal windows closing screens. And it just shut down.

I sat there in shock for about a minute, staring at the blank screen. I called my tekkie friend and told him what happened. We were both like, "What the hell?" I loaded it back up, it's working normally. Has something like this ever happened to any of you?

One of my friends had this happening for a while, he had just recently cleaned some virus out of his computer... and when he restarted for the first time after that, it started to randomly shut itself down. Dont happen to know why, but it did.

ad-aware is a good one. i DLed a different one that claimed "Scan your computer for FREE!" well, it scanned for free, but when i said to delete, a lil message pops up "Register now to delete viruses! Only $19.95!!" actually, this happened with several spyware scanners before i stumbled upon ad-aware. most annoying thing ever...

My friend's pc does that sometimes. You'll be right in the middle of something and it just shuts off.

Trojan....after seeing that commercial, i've laughed at the name trojan.

Use an anti virus protector to check what it is. It might just be your system.
