Re: Bad assumptions (and why they're bad)

When anyone assumes graphic design and print related jobs are extremely easy to get done right.

"I'm going to get this professionally printed and it will turn out right because they're professionals!"

People assuming I'm Asian just because I can play FFR better than themselves. (btw, its a half-correct assumption. I'm only half-Asian.) I hate it.

That medicine currently knows everything, so therefore if someone doesn't have a diagnosis yet still don't feel well, the symptoms are self-created, 'all in your head'.

                      thread

that you or another person is inherently more valuable than anyone else
that you are completely powerless over yourself
that you are only your brain or your thoughts
that something isn't possible, because you cannot see or rationalize it
that nature is a commodity because humans are "better" or above it
that we have to make up for lack by overexerting ourselves
that there's something wrong with you in any way
that there is no reason to suffer or feel badly, that life is pointless or terrible
that what we want is what we need

i see people convincing themselves of these things constantly, and I hope they come to see that the outside world is mostly irrelevant to how they feel. put yourself first in a non-egotistical sense and see that self-love is the best thing we can do for the world. by viewing ourselves objectively we can discern the reasons for our feelings and open new avenues of thought and existence, even or especially while 'trapped' in a certain state of mind, constantly recycling old thoughts and memories. let the new flow in man and shine !!!

                      lol post

QFT, oh my god. I was so sick of my parents getting on my case after my issues with not graduating secondary-level schooling. Granted, I wasn't doing the best thing at the time due to being depressed, but I highly doubt you would rather me be out of the house doing things that I shouldn't.

Some of my mannerisms and maybe when I had my afro got me pinned as the stoner. Closest I came to drugs was picking up a dead cigarette when I was three. Gave me really bad heartburn, and that's kept me away since.

Just because sensory perception makes us assume someone fits a stereotype doesn't mean they actually fit it.
