When I had my 2000 Chevy Silverado, I was putting in 50 bucks in gas a week, just driving like 5-10 miles a day. Damn you lifted up douchebag trucks. I had to sell it and buy a Honda Accord, which still only gets me 15-18mpg

UK prices are hitting £1.50 per litre. So that's what, £6.75 per gallon, or $10.60 per gallon for you US people. Our minimum wage is £6.08 an hour, so people with cars over here are getting ****ing stiffed.
Wtf, why so expensive ._.
Btw, I think that calculation is in imperial gallons (4.55L/gallon), whereas in US gallons (3.79L/gallon), it would be $8.97 per gallon.
Still, super expensive compared to the rest of the world.
The only countries I know of that pay more for gas is Turkey ($10.11/gallon) and Italy ($9.35/gallon)
On top of that, Italy doesn't have a regulation for minimum wage iirc...
Edit: On the other side of the spectrum, there's Saudi Arabia, paying merely 50 cents per gallon.
Dat gas price.
You have to consider the efficiency of driving in cold Canadian winters is considerably less than you Californians or even Kansans get. There's the idling, road conditions, environmental conditions affecting the burning of gas, etc.
I filled up my mini-van yesterday at $3.69, today it was hiked up to $3.81. Was so relieved to have completely filled up a day before visiting family xD
My van gets pretty bad mileage, around 14 mpg in town, but highway it can actually hold out pretty well. I do need an oil change (it's been over 10k miles x_x) so that should help a slight bit.
And major lulz at $40-$50 filling up your entire tanks, it takes me $80+ with good prices. Around 22 gallon tank. So it does last a good while.

My truck was like 140-150 for a complete fill and it lasted me 2-3 weeks.

Gas prices are slowly going down here, finally. However, they fluctuate every month but recently I've just tried not to drive unless I absolutely have to, pretty much just to and from work and school. Got to save money somehow. Food prices also went up recently so we are pretty much working for food and gas for the most part. X_X
I have a small car, so it usually takes me maybe $30-$40 to fill up, but that still sucks having to do that every couple of weeks or so.

Hard to do in some cases. If you live in an area where there aren't any stores within reasonable walking distance, you're pretty SOL. Nearest grocery store from my old house was a solid 10 minute drive, and carrying a weeks worth of groceries on a pretty busy route wouldn't have been a safe idea.
