    So, I just discovered this wonderfull thing called bandwidth...

    I also discovered how hard people with a downloading cap like me are getting screwed in the ass by their Internet providers.

    I've been running Networx for about a day and I've discovered some really fun shit. I know most of you probably already know all of this but hey, who cares.

    First of all : Watching videos

    Holy crap. Watching a video on youtube = downloading it entirely. What's worse is that if you go watch it again, it counts as a double download and so on. Considering that the size of a 360p video on youtube = 2Mb x number of minutes in said video, the amount needed for browsing youtube is HUGE.

    Second : Browsing porn in all format

    I've come to believe that porn websites and Internet providers are in for a big scam.

    Third : 9gag/memebase/webcomics

    So far so good, an hour of browsing memebase = 189Mb. This isn't even funny.


    That's about all I discovered in a day worth of information. No wonder I've been destroying my 30Gb cap each month...

          get with isp that doesn't have bandwidth caps. problem solved. I find it unfortunate for those who are dumb enough to get sucked into it hehu

          though I realize most of you live with your parents and have little to no control over this rip

                                          That sucks man, I have a 150GB cap and i rarely bust 100GB, but i could NEVER live on a cap that low. I have steam and i have to ocassionally redownload entire games which can be up to 13GB. Between that, and my addition to Youtube/MMO's. I don't think i've had a month where i used less than 75GB.

                                          Waiting for Google's Internet which should be here sometime later this year. With the speeds they're promising, i don't see a logical reason to put any cap on it unless its like 1TB.

                                              I don't know what the hell I'd do if my service was capped. Online gaming uses up a lot of bandwidth I'm sure, and the times when I get torrent crazy, I can easily go over 100GB in a few days. xD
                                              Seriously, switch internet providers if you can. Though I know that unlimited providers are less common in Canada.
