So I checked the forums and I didn't see anything posted about this, so I'm sorry if this has been posted before. Anyway, I found this free online game that is a tribute to old NES games. Here's the description from IGN:
"From Double Dragon to Contra, this homage to the NES combines just about every game from your childhood into one. Watch the trailer and see if you can catch every reference!"

Basically my thoughts. I think I got many of the references, not sure what the spatula was about sadly... all I can think of is Urf but I don't think he was in the NES generation :'(

nostalgia of games but ****, you think it would fix the problems from games (obscene hit boxes, constantly getting hit, lack of healing/lives, no invurnability after getting hit (gunner gavin wtf). it's just as frustrating as old games.

Pretty sure that was the point. I nostalgia'd, game is Nintendo Hard at points lol

Got all the achievements except beating all of Contra without dying (lol fuuuuuuuuuuck that)
