    Re: Perfect World

    How about $13 a month? That's what I pay =p

I thought the same thing about paying for games after buying them as you, but WoW just has so much more to offer than any of these damn free MMOs. They're free for a reason.

Like what? I've only played WoW at a friend's house where I quickly got to lvl9 or so but the formula seemed exactly the same to me.

And honestly, even if you're right, I'm getting way more than I paid for. Maybe it's because I'm new to MMOs but I'm satisfied with this gaming experience.

This is a good game, and in reality while WoW does have more to offer, it's the same crap, and you'll get bored of that too eventually.

Aion looks pretty interesting though, I must say.

Chaz when I played WoW, by the end it was more just a social thing for me than anything. sure I'd raid and grind and all that jazz but most of the time I'd sit around just chatting to everyone with whom I'd been playing for the past year and a half. When I realized I was paying $X/month for a chat program, I quit.

                Re: Perfect World

I played Perfect World a long time ago, so they may have fixed all the issues by now, but it was a confusing game. If you thought World of Warcraft had vast distances you have to travel to get somewhere? Perfect World doubles that. If you thought quest descriptions were confusing? Perfect World quests will tell you to go east when they mean to say go north. I may be wrong because I didn't play the game very far, but the story line is completely lacking. I can tell there's something going on, but the quests don't make it really clear about what's happening in the world. The controls were absolutely horrid in my opinion. I don't remember the specific issues I had with it, but targeting a monster and then attacking it shouldn't be a huge ordeal.

                  Re: Perfect World

Yeah sometimes locking onto a guy is a little harder than it should be if you're attacking a tiny and/or skinny guy while moving. The distances do seem a big large, too. However they make up for it by letting you click on your destination in the quest description and it guides your duder right where you need to go.

As far as the storyline goes I imagine some of it was lost in translation. Other than that what do you expect? It has to be vague so a sense of urgency doesn't make the player skip all the non-story quests. I think the story is alright but then again I really don't know if I'm getting anywhere. The big nameless evil is as terrifying as it was when i started the game, and it's more or less completely absent from the game up until now (I'm at lvl26).

I played PWi until I was a 29 BM, and quit.
It's lacking in too many places that I enjoyed in WoW, so it actually got me BACK into WoW.
It's worth the $15 a month, even to this day.

I never really paid attention to what was going on in the story. Most of the quests weren't bad anyway, and they certainly weren't hard to figure out. I spent most of my time enjoying the great scenery and exploring the land. The world is definitely massive, and at level 29 you've barely seen any of it. There's lots of great places to explore later on, right up to level 100.

It does take long to travel, but that's half the fun. If you talk to the women in the town, you can teleport from place to place anyway after you've been somewhere.
