    Re: World of Warcraft

Agh. Poor choices made by the naxx raid tonight limited our progress to two quarters. I needed 7 tokens for my new pants, and I only got 6.

Sigh. Hopefully we do Construct first and actually finish Thaddius so I can attempt to get the token without paying for it so I won't feel like I wasted 75 emblems when I could've gotten it for free.

Also thinking of raiding with a different guild. There was no excuse for what happened in that run. Some idiot wiped the raid by pulling the adds in the 2nd boss before the tank could pull, and their pull aggrod the boss. We weren't making great time, but we weren't slow either. The group decided to take a break right after Heigan. Bad idea. Some people left and didn't come back. One person decided to take the time to repair back at Dalaran, but he didn't have epic flying and nobody else wanted to run all the way back to the portal. People were still afk by the time he got back in, but we'd already lost half an hour. Decided to just go through maggot hall anyway, but that was also problematic as we didn't have a warlock. All in all, about 90 minutes were burned just moving from Heigan to Loatheb.

My guildmate got the 2nd best-in-slot cape and I got the best-in-slot boots from that run, at least.

The legs will finish my 4-set bonus and add enough hit to let me re-gem all my other gear for even more damage. The legs alone are about a 100dps increase, and the set bonus adds another 50-80 dps. The legs have 2 sockets (compared to 0 from what I currently have), which will add another 40 or so. Getting rid of all my old +hit gems and putting in +sp gems will add another 20 or so dps per gem for 3-5 sockets.

So yeah, it's a pretty huge upgrade.

I really hope that wasn't a guild run. If it was you may want to think about running with some new people because that is pretty bad. If it was a mostly pug group I wouldn't be so concerned but that is a perfect example of a poorly organized Naxx raid. GM/Raid Leader should have been on top of that the entire time.

        Re: World of Warcraft

My guild messed up Naxx this week too. Many of our guild members have alts and they recently hit 80. Because of the recent influx of new healers and tanks, most of our healers and tanks brought their alts. The result was we had people who weren't as well geared to tank and heal the fights to tank and heal them. Some of them weren't just well geared, they lacked experience, which was a crippling factor. We still swept through the bosses as if they were nothing, but once we got to KT, we started having trouble.

First of all, we had a shadow priest who thought he had to run to the healers when he got mana bombed. When the mana bomb goes off, the healers take damage equal to the amount of mana he had. That wasn't good because we keep all our healers in the middle. Also, my friend, one of our off-tanks never did this fight before, so he wasn't completely sure what to do. He believed the top priority was to keep sunders up because he wanted to increase melee dps. However, this caused him to die most of the time and by the time spiders came out, the healers were hard pressed to keep the tank alive since he had to take all 4.

After a while, people decided to leave and we 18 people. By now, everyone had a lot more experience, including my friend. We tried to 18 man KT. The first attempt, we got him down to 400k hp because my friend ran to the otherside to pick up spiders because he didn't see spiders spawn an his side. It's a good think the other tank was on top of it and picked up the ones on his side, but it caused several people to die in the process. The second attempt, we got really unlucky. My friend managed to pick up two like he was supposed to. However, when KT was at 25%, he got iceblocked. We tried to heal him like mad, but even the healers couldn't keep him up and he died. After losing aggro, I had to pop fade or the spiders would hit me. The other tank picked up the other two, but he couldn't put out enough threat to keep the spider aggro off me when fade ended, so I died. Because we were down one healer, leaving the Paladin and the two oom healers left, we couldn't make it through. We got him down to ~90k before the last person died. We called it a night because wiping on KT 7 times wasn't a good thing.

This is why I hate a significant portion of the WoW player base.

Priest forums make me cry. All they do is QQ about being sucky healers. Priests are excellent healers.

              Re: World of Warcraft

              Quick advice required:

I have enough Valor tokens to buy the pants, but this group is continuing tomorrow from Grobb to Kel (or so they think. I personally think some of people are too damn stupid, but that's just my opinion). I think they can at least get to Thaddius, and possibly get him down before we call it a night.

The group will change a little, but the vast majority of the members are priests, druids, mages, and DKs. Whenever I've rolled on a token, it was a 25% chance or better due to the lack of warriors and hunters. So if the token drops, I have a pretty decent chance at it.

See, I just don't know if Valor emblems will be used for anything after Ulduar comes out.

ps - finally finished two things tonight. Got the best transmute we have (Life -> Fire) and finished Loremaster of Northrend. The last zone was Zul'Drak and all I could remember having left to do were the Amphitheater of Anguish quests. After asking general chat in vain, I decided to solo it and did.

You might as well hold off on them, if they dont drop then buy the leggings.

If you do win the pants, you can sell the valor emblem bracers for some money.

You shouldn't talk down to people you don't know anything about, acting like you know more and then try to show them up in the forum. That's how you get absolutely no where.

It's hard to find a group for it sometimes. I had to ask my guild to find someone to do it with me.

By the time I finished Zul'Drak, I was so pissed off with the zone that I couldn't wait to get to Sholazar.

Also I had no idea there were even quests at the Amphitheater. I thought it was a dungeon or something. Not a single NPC in Zul'Drak points you to it. There's one in Dalaran, but I didn't even know Dalaran had sewers until long after I hit 80. I don't remember the weapon I had, but whatever it was, it wasn't too much worse than the spell scalpel from kirin tor rep.

I apparently missed the last few quests in the Har'koa chain too, since those were 3-man quests.

Guild got OS 2 Drakes down today. We're going to do it again next week to clean it up, then move on to 3 Drakes.

We're gonna finish up Naxx tomorrow, if Turning Tide drops it's mine seeing as I have way more DKP than everybody. My dps will be AMAZING when that thing finally drops

Also, we were looking up people in our guild on wow heroes. Our MT is the best geared Alliance tank(2nd overall behind a horde tank) and our OT is in the top 10. As well as many of our players being a lot better geared than people in better guilds. Hopefully this will bode well for our progression when Ulduar comes out, and we'll rank up in the top 15 or 20 guilds.

                                Sigh. Pugs are atrocious.

The group does so well on Friday night, but so many people are only available for one night and don't return on Saturday. It's like exponential decay. We got 2 quarters done one night, one quarter down the next, and only one boss down on the third. The problem on Friday, as I mentioned before, was that we had no warlocks, so we had to get through maggot hall without any deaths. And some people didn't have flying mounts so they had to be resummoned every time.
