Good PS1/2 RPGs?

I'm looking for a good RPG for my friend, something like Vagrant Story, or anything a FF7 fan would enjoy.

Budget is around $30 by Ebay. Narrow it down to one choice if you can.

Legend of Dragoon is one of the best RPG's I have ever played. It tops FF for me.

If you're more into like...FFtactics.
Than the obvious choice is Disgaea, but that will be hard to find cheap.
I currently have over 500 hours on my Disgaea save.

I suggest Dragon Warrior 7.

only played Shin megami tensei persona 3 and persona 3 fes,FES is the better choice since it's added extras to the original.
Although if you're not into dungeon crawling don't get it

Disgaea is also a good one if you play long enough and do the things they offer
you might end up with some pretty big numbers

I'm leaning more towards PS1 games since they're cheaper and classic and such.

Right now I've got it narrowed down to Xenogears, Vagrant Story, or Chrono Cross.

Squeek recommended Tales of the Abyss (PS2) to me. I listened and enjoyed. And it only cost me like 20-25 bucks, IIRC.

I'm sure he'll post a link to an awesome vid in here eventually.

Edit: I second Ogre Battle but it's no normal RPG (I hesitate to call it that, even).

well FF9 was one of the best final fantasies, and one of the most enjoyable RPGs for me.
