    Geometry Wars: Galaxies

I just got the DS version today. I already had the Wii version, but I hadn't really played it. (The Wii version for the graphics, the DS version for the portability. Both to unlock special features.) It's now one of my favorite games ever. Arcade style is one of my favorite genres, but most arcade games have the graphics of when they were made; therefore, having an arcade style game with graphics that filled me with awe is going to be a good game in my opinion.

What does everyone else think of it?

EDIT: How do you end a multiplier combo? I would be earning so many more points if I knew how.

Haven't played GW: Galaxies, just the one on 360 Live Arcade, but it is a very excellent game, hands down my favorite Live Arcade game at least. I've been meaning to get the DS version : D

It's a weird game, I saw screenshots, looked not fun at all.

          Re: Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Galaxies blows the living **** out of every other arcade game currently on the market, including Retro Evolved. I have both versions (Wii and DS) and hav golded every mission, including the multiplayer ones (Which, believe you me, is quite a feat).

I don't understand what you mean by "Ending the multiplier." The multiplier by itself can only go up to 150. Every Geome you collect gives you +1x. If you die, your multiplier is wiped.

PS- NFD, this is one of those times where you simply have to play it to see how glorious it is. I suggest not determining if a game is "fun" or not simply by the screenshots. Movies, that I could understand, but, screenshots? No.

I have Galaxies, and while it's mildly fun, I've always found it to be a bit too hectic.

So if you get your multiplier up to 150, it will multiply your score by 150?

Is it the same for the Wii version? (Even though the Wii version still grows from the number of enemies you destroy.)

                Re: Geometry Wars: Galaxies

both games should have a max. multiplier of 150. Once you reach that, any geoms you collect will cease to affect it until you die. The reason your score tends to be low once you reach that point is because scoring is fairly low until you start getting higher multipliers. At 150, you score will begin skyrocketing.

As for droids, I prefer the turret in open spaces and the psuedo-shield (I forget the actual name, too lazy to look it up) in maze-like areas. In those weird vortex areas, I use collect because I otherwise won't get any multipliers since I hang out on the center most of the time.

I still don't get it, nothing is happening to my score whenever I get a multiplier of 150.

                    It's all points you get.

For example, if you hit an enemy that give you 5 points, you'd get 750 instead of 5.

Oh, OK. I thought it multiplied your total score.
