I am hopefully getting this game for my birthday, and I was wondering some stuff about it.

1. What is it rated?
2. Is it good?

Stuff like that so....

It's easily in the top 10 games of all-time.

I don't think anybody really plays it online anymore, which is too bad.

1. Rated T. This was actually an issue when it was released- tens of thousands of boxes were released with an M rating (it was a misprint.)
2. Yes, it's very good - when it was released, it was the best in its genre. Warcraft 3 has made many great improvements upon it though. If your computer can handle it, get that instead.

Edit: Zealot rush is way too freaking good.

I don't think there will ever be a RTS more fun than SC.

I suggest getting WC3, as well, though, because it has many more people playing, and it would be hard to appreciate the classic when the game is dying.

Lot's of people still play this game but those are the people who have played it since the beggining. It's not the best choice for a new game cause it's so old. I advise something newer (like Privateer said) like Warcraft 3. Or well... you know... Natural-Selection is always good too...

My friend, who has it, said that quite a few people still play online...but not as much as a long time ago. I will mostly be playing against my friends from school...I played it once , and it seemed really good. I am looking foward to getting it. As of WC3....I will probably get that eventually. I would ask for that too, but I am getting a new computer chair so....

Starcraft is still really popular and my favorite RTS overall...and yes the online community is still pretty good. The mod maps are soooo fun to play..but what makes the game so good is how balenced it is, where it seems all 3 races have strenghs and weaknesses that balence each other almost perfectly, so who you chose is really up to how you like to play. Personally I like terran the best though...

I used to play it. One of my favorite games ever. I was definitally one of the best players in canada. Theres no RTS like it. I tryed WC3, its just gay...it can't compare to SC. Im pretty sure it was rated like #6 on top 100 games of all time.

I'll definitally play someone when i get ahold of someones disk again.
