Call of Duty 4 vs Halo 3

Ok, so i was arguring with my friend as to what game is all around, better. My friend thought that it was halo 3 because of the mulitplayer and the forge and all that. I think that it is Call of Duty because the graphics look better and that the mulitplayer is just better. So to solve this i thought i would post it on the formus and see what other people thought. I want to know what game you like better and why it is better than the other game so things like graphics, storyline, gameplay, etc.

Halo 3 would be the better game if it was less balanced and the ranking system didn't suck ass.

CoD4. No question. Halo 3 is boring, online is good yes, but sorry, I don't just play games for online stuff...even by then Halo 3 is just...average.

Yeah if it weren't for multiplayer CoD4 easily has the better campaign mode.

CoD4's online isn't bad either mind you...it's easy to kill another player, but it's still fun. It's a little more fun to me than Halo 3's actually.

Things I didn't like about Halo 3:

-There is absolutely no organized warfare in the multiplayer battles. When I played, It was basically "Run, shoot frantically, strafe, get the cheaper weapon, throw a bunch of grenades."
-It takes an unreal amount of time for anyone to die. By the time that I frag and blow their brains out, they somehow get one frag within 20 yards of my area and blow me to bits. I really don't understand it.
-Although CoD4 can't cook grenades like in CoD3, atleast the grenade system is better in CoD4 (with the exception of plasma grenades).
a) Larger blast radius from what I saw.
b) You can throw it farther.
c) Takes more time to explode. It's good for both the thrower and victim. If chased, the thrower can time and plan the location of the thrown grenade, so the victim will be blown to bits. And the "victim" can pick up the grenade and throw it back if he acts with haste.
-Master Chief jumps WAY too high.
-The sniper rifle, if up to my standards, is usually my weapon of choice. If I'm not mistaken, the sniper rifle zoom was toggled by how many times you pressed the zoom button as opposed to being pressure sensitive or just stagnant. There were atleast two times when someone ganged up on me and I was impeded by the zoom, leading to my death.

Now, in contrast, I present where CoD4 (and any previous games) picked up where Halo didn't:
-(CoD4 and 2) My favorite environments and choices of weapons, particularly in CoD2. My first round was in the village near Point Du Hoc. The urban environment and downed vehicles really came to both me and my cousin's advantages. We could sneak up on each other, surpise each other from the cover of the buildings, and my favorite tactic at the time: Prime a smoke grenade and bait him to my spot.
-Although we do die pretty easy in multiplayer battles, I don't feel disadvantaged or uneven in how long it takes to kill, in addition to being more realistic. 2 in the chest, one to the head, and he's down.
-Like I stated before, I enjoy the grenade system in CoD3 and 4.
-I'm not freaking Superman, and I certainly don't jump that way in CoD4.
-I absolutely LOVE the sniper system.

Both games has strengths and weaknesses.

Halo 3 pros:
-Great Multiplayer
-Vast amount of weapons
-Power-ups
-Vehicles
-Shield allowing you to live longer
-Vast amount of game variants
-Customizable game variants and maps
-Customizable game settings

Cons:
-Shields gives players time to notice and escape when under attack
-Auto-Aiming
-Cheap combos (ex. noob combo [BR and PP])
-Glitches
-Repetitive
-No strategy required
-Unrealistic gameplay
-Same old gameplay as previous games


Call of Duty 4 pros:
-Realistic
-Great Graphics
-Customizable classes
-Great Multiplayer
-Great Single Player
-Good rankings
-Strategy required
-Easy to kill others
-Air raids

Cons:
-Easy to BE killed
-All weapons kills the enemy with one shot
-Need high rankings to play most game variants and weapons
-No vehicles
-Almost no use for night visions in MP
-Sniping too easy (shot anywhere and you're dead)

So IMO, Call of Duty 4 is better, but it's really close.

this game has a bigger skill gap than both and its a damn flash game thats 1000kb big it isnt about the graphics

both games are a complete joke halo2/halo1 were better than both put together and doom is an arcade game for 800 points and that owns all of them except maybe halo1 (if your talking about skill gaps anyway)

edit: infact now that I think of it halo3 > cod4 by alot because at least on halo3 you can kill alot of people and when your guy gets shot with a 9mm in the leg he doesnt die in 2 shots like a pussy

laying in the grass behind a garbage can and shooting some guy in the ass as he walks by doesnt take skill sorry
