Main Story: 60 stars, I probably spent 5-8 hours to initially beat the game. It's fairly easy to do but SIGNIFICANT fun ^.^

After Story: An additional 60 stars MUCH harder to collect them all. I have yet to do so I have about 80 and I haven't played in like a week but by the end of next week I should have them all.

GOOD GAME! I suggest to EVERYONE that has a wii go get it. It's a must have game

Beating the game, as in getting 60 stars, will take about 5 hours.

Beating the game, as in getting 120 stars? I'm too frustrated with it to go for that at this point, and I'm only in the 7x range. It's really hard. I've clocked 10 hours so far and I'm not even working on the last three domes yet.

I have like 60 stars and haven't even started the last room yet. Although I'm so obsessive I'd rather clean the rooms through first before going to meet big bad Bowser.

same here....though i would rather get all the stars before even watching the ending (it can't be harder than getting A ranks emblems on sonic games)

Oh you think getting 120 stars will take forever? Try getting 240 stars!! Yes that's right, you have to go through it as Luigi: the taller, skinnier, higher-jumper, frictionless, italian plumber.

Just incase this has already been said, my excuse is I've been away from the computer because my sister got off marching band. She's more obsessed with the computer than I am. Also I've been doing more things school related.

I have to say though, after playing it once with Mario, I really don't want to go through it with Luigi. I spent a couple weeks just 100% beating it with Mario (on and off*) and now I have to do every single thing again just with another guy. I think the only thing to brag about after beating it with Luigi, is to say, "I went through Super Mario Galaxy twice, once with Mario and again with Luigi."

*Meaning if I wasn't playing SMG, I was playing Madden 07, Jak X, or watching Football or some other TV show.

though i think playing with luigi makes some puzzles easier (he has a higher jump) and some harder (he lacks friction)

I think everything is harder. The cosmic stars (the one where you race a mirror image of yourself) the mirrored Luigi is a hell of a lot faster. One thing I really hate about his little frictionless feet is when you try to stop because you're about to fall off or get hit by one of those annoying rolling rocks, you just don't stop in time and either slide off a cliff to your death, or roll right into the rock.

I've been at 99 stars for two weeks already because school and work have kept me from my Wii. I'm hoping to get back to it on Wednesday or so.

This game isn't all that hard, though. Ray surfing is the only thing that frustrated me.

Not only did I finish ray surfing on my first try, I did it while accelerating the whole time.

Ridiculously easy.
