Re: Halo 3 Next Tuesday!
If you live in Mckinney texas, don't go to the gamestop on Mckinney Ranch Road and Lake Forest.
I'm going to drive by and spoil the ending for everyone =3 Just because I missed my chance to do it with Harry Potter.Comment

Re: Halo 3 Next Tuesday!
Being bad at games (of which you have no proof) and having an opinion on a game (of which you have no say) are completely separate things.
My opinion is that Halo is overrated. It doesn't stop you from ogling every tiny piece of news that the company releases. It doesn't stop you from paying however much money you will pay to get the zomgspechuleditionmaxextreme2. It doesn't stop you from enjoying it either. All it does is say "hey, guess what, you may like Halo a lot, but not everybody does! And they have legitimate reasons for not liking it!"
This may be hard to believe, but only 0.1% of the entire population of the world owns Halo 2. That means 99.9% of the population of the world either has no idea what Halo is or doesn't have any interest in owning it. Simple as that.Last edited by Squeek; 09-19-2007, 11:35 PM.Comment

Re: Halo 3 Next Tuesday!
The Halo series is extremely overrated. Albeit, it has a fun multiplayer, but that's just about it. It hasn't done anything to make it stand out from everything else except the fact that its budget is as big as a blockbuster movie's.

Let's see, who in the Staff played the **** out of Halo 2:
Me
Synthlight
Lightdarkness
Cyanotic XTC
I'm sure there are more, I'm just forgetting some people.
Anyway, the point is this:
Unless you want to be hunted down by Synthlight, you will like Halo 3, you gutless whores.
Love,

Re: Halo 3 Next Tuesday!
All games that are expected to be successful are hyped. Saying it's overrated before it's even come out is just outright stupidity. Killzone 2 is being hyped up, Call of Duty 4 is being hyped up, World of Warcraft's new expansion is being hyped up, every new Final Fantasy game is hyped before release...It's a standard commercial practice.Being bad at games (of which you have no proof) and having an opinion on a game (of which you have no say) are completely separate things.

0.1% of the entire population of the world may be owners of Halo indeed, the number might even be less that, but DON'T say that 99.9% of the population don't even know what Halo is. There're books, comic books, toys... In addition to an RTS game made by Ensemble Studios, there's even going to be a movie to be directed or produced by Peter Jackson.
I am One-Hundred percent positive that your made-up facts on the game are fallacies, which is a created result produced by the beliefs you have on the game.
People who say it's overrated- Get over it. The numbers say that the game is going to be a massive hit, it's already sold over a million pre-orders, which is an industry record whether you like it or not. Many many many people like to play it, and they're hyping it up because of them.
Most already know this, but I'm thrilled that Halo 3 will be out soon. I enjoy the multiplayer immensely, and plan on buying it the day it comes out and taking that day off of work as well as college.Last edited by DigitalS3r4ph; 09-21-2007, 03:49 PM.

I said "Either don't know what it is or have no interest in owning it." I know what Halo is. I've even played it. I have no interest in owning it. Chalk one up for 99.9%
I have every right to say a franchise with pre-existing titles is overrated. That pre-existing notion of the franchise leads me to believe another game in the franchise will be just like the previous two titles.
What facts did I make up? I looked up how many people own the game and divided that into 6.5 billion people. Difficult calculations here!
What I said has absolutely nothing to do with hype. I have no idea why you're ranting about something I didn't even talk about. EVERY game has hype. If you don't have hype, you don't sell any units. That doesn't mean it's good or bad. Lair had hype. It's a terrible piece of crap. Doesn't mean people won't buy it. Doesn't mean some people will love it or not. It's completely irrelevant.
It's overrated. There are dozens of other FPSes out there that are far better than Halo and it disappoints me to see you're all so biased toward this pathetic franchise that you blind yourself from the experience of a real game.Comment

Re: Halo 3 Next Tuesday!
99.9% is a bit much, Squeek. Even counting in Africa and places that don't know what an X-Box is, I'm pretty sure way more than .1% of the world knows what Halo is... =\
I mean really Squeek, I saw your name as the last post and just thought "why why why". I don't see why you bother.
The thing with Halo is, and always has been, that it didn't do anything special. If you had an X-Box and didn't have a PC, yeah, maybe Halo was RLY RLY GUD. I, however, had been playing games that did everything that Halo did (and more) for a while before Halo was even released. Had everything gone as originally planned and Halo had been released for the PC first, NOBODY would care about it. It'd be another average shooter that comes and goes and gets ignored. The only reason it ever got popular and stayed popular was because it was basically the first (and only, at least for a while) decent shooter on the X-Box, which was a console marketted towards people who would like to play a FPS but probably didn't have a sweet PC.
I mean, Halo isn't a bad game, oh no. But like, get a computer and freaking play ANY OTHER FPS game on it. Then play Halo on the PC.
AND DON'T EVEN SAY YOU LIKE HALO MORE THAN OTHER FPS GAMES BECAUSE IT HAS A STORYLINE. Playing an FPS for its story is like jacking off to porn because you want to be more sensitive to women's feelings. So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OComment

Yet another person who misunderstands my numbers!
0.1% of the world OWNS Halo 2.Originally posted by SqueekThis may be hard to believe, but only 0.1% of the entire population of the world owns Halo 2.
My estimates are 0.2% or 0.3% know what the Halo franchise is one way or another. That's nearly 30,000,000 people.Comment
