Oh! I was like ... wtf? How does 8 corsairs win ... haha. Yeah, Carriers own ... but if you want to live, you'll tell your units to manually hit the carrier and not the interceptors.

What UMS maps are popular now? I remember when "Can You Do 25 Tricks?" was popular, and the Bounds ... oh gosh, the Bounds ... so many, so hard. xD

Yah I'm sorry about the confusion there. The problem back in the day was the carriers had enough hp to tank pretty much anything for a good minute and by then, everything would be dead.

I'm pretty sure they decreased the HP of the carrier to a manageable amount. Rushes or carriers weren't the only ways to win anymore.

Carriers arn't any weaker. Carriers are for noobs and the only reason people used carriers back then was because they were bad at the game and there was very little theory behind how the game should be played...so it could be won with noob tactics. I mean, AMD_Grr was a professional gamer in the early days of SC and tended to try for carriers most of the time, but once the koreans started developing some game theory this simply never worked and people that used carriers got wiped out fast >_>

Maybe 5-6 high templars and some goons will wipe the floor with a set of 20 carriers. Alternatively a set of 12 templars with a group psi storm could wipe those carriers out in about 5 seconds. Goliaths wipe the floor with carriers easily as well.

And noone in their right mind will EVER make carriers against zerg >_> The only time they're appropriate at all anymore is against terran late game, mostly because toss has nothing else to stop terran from steam rolling them into a pancake with 200/200 in tanks, so at least carrier makes them make some goliaths.


Zeal rush is also one of those classic tactics that is almost never used anymore either, mostly because cybercore tech is far superior. Most hypermodern play now goes straight to fast expo with cannon+gate block using toss. This was developed mostly to give toss a fighting chance against the zerg's free expansion, and often gives winning counter plays later in the game if not stopped early.




Anyway uh, I don't play sc anymore >__> But i'll be playing sc2 hardcore for sure ;D

Storm doesn't stack damage. it does about 150-200 damage, then needs to be recast. A group of 12 ghosts though can lockdown 24 carriers though without much problem.

Vash and i played in a ffa game against each other last night. He ended up winning, but i kept being attacked by both him, and inactive_user. i sorta never recovered from the dual attack, even though inactive dropped shortly after.

ps you had time to rebuild because I just kept throwing random attacks at you. Then I decided to finish it off with goons
