    LOTR: Online

So I'm about to go buy the game right now and I'm just wondering if anyone has played it, or is playing it for that matter.

I'm leaving in a few, and will check back on this thread over the next few hours. If you do play the game, by all means, tell me what server you're on. It'd be a lot more fun to play with a (slightly) familiar face than complete strangers.

    Re: LOTR: Online

I played it during the closed beta quite a few months ago. Everyone there called is LOTRO, since I guess it's just shorter or something.

It was a pretty fun game, let me tell you. You never really needed to grind for quite a bit because quests were not only fun, but gave you so much damn experience that you could level entirely off of them. Not only that, but you needed to complete all of them to move on to the next area with higher levelled monsters anyway. But they made all of the quests fun ones so you didn't have to go "ugh, why am I doing this dumb tedious crap?"

Overall, I'd say it's a great game, but it requires a kinda high end computer. Your graphics will probably start at "very high" and there will be an option of "ultra high". On my secondary computer(3GHz, 2GB of RAM), I got really crappy FPS(like 20-40) in some places, especially in crowded towns and places with just a lot of stuff in them. But on my main computer, I had no FPS issues at all. So pretty much, if you have anything higher than what I had on the secondary computer, you can play lag-free on the highest settings.

Oh yeah, and the graphics are BEAUTIFUL. They're probably among the best I've ever seen in anything. So that's why it might require a nice computer to play.
