I done this since the N64 came out and now it's not good for me or any type of gamer. We shouldn't rush our games because one day, you'll beat the game so fast, you won't feel satisfy of the whole game you just beaten in less than a week or 2. I now hate to do that because then, I have nothing left to do on the game. Zelda:TP was a perfect example. Even though it was rented from Blockbuster, I should've taken my time beating it. Instead, I beaten it in less than 6 days. I feel very dissappointed of what I just did because beating such a great game in such a haste can make you feel really bored and sad (if the ending was good), especially after that good ending, it doubles that effect for me. So, do you think beating a game is a good thing or bad thing for you?

Re: Beating Great Games Too Fast!
Actually, I get a better feeling out of rushing things. It just means you need to buy something else to stay entertained, which is all on you.
I do this with anime all of the time. One day I watched 29 episodes of Eureka 7 in a single day. Compare that to playing 29 hours in a 50 hour game in a day. I actually enjoyed it. -

Hmm...with anime, yeah, it okay to go fast on it, but on video games, unless it's hard, I know for sure that rushing isn't the solution for the boredom. At the same time though, if there is a good reason to beat it quickly, then that's fine.Actually, I get a better feeling out of rushing things. I generally take my time doing it the first time, then play a second game trying to beat it as fast as I can.Comment

OMG! I know what you mean. I waited so long for Ratchet and Clank Size Matters to come out. I got it first day... one sleepless night later it was all over. Now it feels like it was all a waste.
I wish I didn't rush it. Generally that's why I prefer RPG's as they usually take a lot of time to complete and sometimes you don't even feel the need to continue with the storyline for a while.

Re: Beating Great Games Too Fast!
Lol. Wicked beat me to it. But yeah, play it again. Try doing speed-runs against your friends or something, see who can beat the game faster. I know a couple of people that do that, even tried it myself a few times; great when you can't think of anything better to do.Comment

Re: Beating Great Games Too Fast!
I have the opposite problem.
I take so long beating games, so I can savor every little detail. Problem is that I tend to follow a cycle of getting obsessed for a while, and then abandoning it completely for months on end. I have a huge list of games I never completed >_> and yet I still feel compelled to buy new ones I enjoy.♪~
Always Happy! Smile! Hello!
I like delicious things
I shoot eye beams at the things I hate and make them explode! (Yay!)
So Happy! Smile! Hello! It's a picnic every day
There's lots of happiness in my pocket
So let's play forever~Comment

Re: Beating Great Games Too Fast!
I have a diffent problem:
When I first played Super Mario Brothers it took me 6-7 years to beat it (I stated at age 3 whattya expect) I can now beat it in 7 minunts with the contrller upside down. Took me 10 years to beat the first Metal Gear and now it's so boring Im about to beat it in Japenese (lol I cant read that!! reminds me of when I stated playing at age 5) Rampart was at least 3 years and Punch-Out!! was 6.
To replay these and other games and see how EASY they are to me now upsets me. Plus, the kids these days are so hardcore that 4 year olds can kill Mike Tyson in a heartbeat (who remebers when Playing games was a hobby and not a life?). Makes me feel old and outdated...
I play newer games and it seems that, unless it takes me a year to play it out, I dont feel like I played my 40 bucks. This is why I like Tekken, Virtual Fighter, DDR, Tetris and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater: there's always a challege and a reason to replay.Last edited by MixMasterLar; 03-7-2007, 06:51 PM.Comment

Re: Beating Great Games Too Fast!
i tend to go through games pretty fast, though its not get to teh ending just to see the ending, its more of a mental thing where i have to beat it or else i wont be at ease with myself. i personally prefer the old school arcade games that didnt have an ending, you just kept playing until your ultimate doom, and the master of the game was determined by score. if you have a problem beating games too much, just buy a game without an ending. you will just keep coming back to do better and betterComment
