I'm pretty sure packet editting is a major crime.

It's really not as bad as everyone makes it sound.

As far as Wizet goes, the most I've known to happen to people for packet editting is a permanent IP ban (Shhh, they are idiots.) It's common apparently for people to get fines for it too (not necessarily with MapleStory or Nexon/Wizet for that matter) but from what I hear the fines aren't all that much, nothing ridiculous. Now of course, this is where all the exaggeration comes in to play, you CAN be jailed for packet editting. HOWEVER, it seems like the only time this happens is if you somehow cause some kind of damage to their server or something along those lines. All in all, I wouldn't recomend packet editting, and I will most likely never ever try it, but it is possible and is relatively safe.

You worded this kinda weird. You mean that the 50k is encoded and isn't just straight up "50k"? So the packet might have "salfh" in it but it means 50k? Well it's not like the memory values of things are blatently obvious, but people still figure those out. If I knew all I had to do was decode that thing to get infinite damage I think I would put some effort into it.

Actually, they are blatantly obvious.

Your damage is 1.
Search for value 1.

You level up, your damage is 3.
Search value 3.

Make a new character, his damage is 1.
Search value 1.

You are now left with one value in which will never change, as long as you make a pointer, even in patches.

Also, how the damage packets are calculated is hard to explain.

Go Warrior. We're slow levelers at first, then we start to pick it up. Levels 1-30 are hard levels for us, but it'll pay off later. At level 30 go Spearman, we are the strongest class in the game when we make our 3rd job advancement at level 70 as a Dragon Knight.

PS. Spearmen start to out-damage all mages at level 50 or 60.

Ok. I did the Archer class last time and it would get stupidly hard to level at certain points. Well, I'm off to start a Warrior/Spearman in Bera.

stop saying things

DKs in normal training aren't THAT strong. A hacking polearm DK is probably insane, but normal spear fighting isn't insane. I do believe a legit hermit can do more damage per second than a legit DK with comparable equips.

Incidentally, the highest damage dealers are actually fire mages. Good game.

EDIT: and by the way, fighters are definitely the strongest in 2nd job.

Coming from a DK, we definitely are NOT the strongest class. It has been proven that both WKs and Saders are more efficient killers than DKs, however our skills are more suited for mobbing than theirs are. That's all there is to it.

Play what looks fun. I started as a Warrior because in every RPG I'd play with my friends over LAN, I'd be the warrior. Then I changed to being a Cleric because I thought training without potions would be cool.

I got to level 90 before I realized I was wrong. I should have been an archer. Crossbowman, to be specific.

First class I'll be making on the private servers when they come out.
