So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

      Nikkis, if you still care:
Since you're getting HB first, and going pure spear, you'll be missing out FA. getting 6 booster will not fix lack of FA, but it will make it slightly better for you.
Hunting for tobis will do this to you.

Thanks, and this will help me through the 40s and 50s until I max FA?

          Re: MapleStory

Nikkis, all booster does is speed up your weapon, so it's like you have Normal speed spears instead of Slow ones. Booster (well, all of them except mages' booster) has the same effect at level 1 as it does at max. The only change is the duration and the HP/MP cost, which makes higher level booster much more cost efficient than lower level booster. People suggest getting about 6 points in it so you have a solid minute long duration. If you left it lower than that, the time you spend recasting it would negate the benefit of faster attacks.

So yeah, about 6 booster will help you a lot. Faster attacks = faster killing. It'll affect all your attacks, even FA (which is already pretty fast). You'll want to max booster eventually (because recasting it every minute is still annoying and not very MP efficient), but 6 does just fine for a while.

            Level 32-Spear Mastery:7 | Level 43-Hyper Body:13
            Level 33-Spear Mastery:10 | Level 44-Hyper Body:16
            Level 34-Spear Mastery 13 | Level 45-Hyper Body:19
            Level 35-Spear Mastery:16 | Level 46-Hyper Body:20
            Level 36-Spear Mastery:19 | Level 47-Hyper Body:23
            Level 37-Spear Mastery:20 Spear Booster:1 | Level 48-Hyper Body:26
            Level 38-Spear Booster:4 | Level 49-Hyper Body:29
            Level 39-Spear Booster:6 Hyper Body:1 | Level 50-Hyper Body:30 FASpear:2
            Level 40-Hyper Body:4 | Level 51-FAS:5

            Level 52-FAS:8 | Level 63-Iron Wall:6(Already has 3 because that was
Level 53-FAS:11 | required for adding to HB)
            Level 54-FAS:14 | Level 64-Iron Wall:9
            Level 55-FAS:17 | Level 65-Iron Wall:12
            Level 56-FAS:20 | Level 66-Iron Wall:15
            Level 57-FAS:23 | Level 67-Iron Wall:18
            Level 58-FAS:26 | Level 68-Iron Wall:20 Endure:7
            Level 59-FAS:29 | Level 69-Endure:8 HP Recovery:7
            Level 60-FAS:30 Spear Booster:8 | Level 70-HP Recovery:10
            Level 61-SB:11
            Level 62-SB:14
            Level 63-SB:17
            Level 62-SB:20

That's my statt build up for the second job advancement. Anything wrong with it? P.S. Endure will have 6 into it and HP will have 5 into it at level 30.

Well, I'm no expert on Spearman but wouldn't it be more efficient to have FA before Hyperbody? Unless you plan to pq a lot or party, hyperbody really is going to slow you down a lot. Plus, FA doesn't work with 3rd job skills so why not make the most of it during 2nd job eh? I would actually get more in booster because it is still very costly at level 6 and 1 minute isn't that long. Yeah, but I would personally go with FA before HB.

I've deffinitly thought of that because I absolutely hate PQing. That's probably what I'll end up doing, since I prefer soloing as well.

Yeah if you are going FA, you do it right after mastery. That's the whole point of FA is to help 2nd job... o_O I'd max mastery and then save up a number of levels and dump into FA (don't want any weak FA as if it kicked in it'd be a waste of time).

Yeah but it doesn't hurt to have weak FA since it's passive and requires no mana.

I have a question, when your a beginner can u only save up to 6 skills at a time? I wanted to put all my skills into crossbow skills, and not waste them with the begginer skills, although it seems it stops at 6...so then 4 get wasted as i level when im getting to lvl 10, im wondering if they will come back when i become a crossbowman. Sorry for being a total nub at this

                        Re: MapleStory

You can only use your 6 skill points gained as a beginner in your beginner skills. Just click your beginner tab and the amount will magically reappear.

For bowman skills, you can only use them on bowman skills. Even if job advance, you can still only use them in bowman skills. Also, you cannot put them in lower level skills, in case you wanted to do that for some reason.

If you could do that, people would make builds to not use any skill points until level 30. Then when they got to 30, they'd be stronger than most level 40-50s are now with their wide range of skills, even if they don't have as much stat points in their main skill. It may seem a little hard, but you can literally level from 1-10 by just whacking stuff, even if you only do 1-3 damage(mages do it all the time to level 8), and you can get from 10-30 by trading items in for experience at higher levels. Meaning you just get on your other character, transfer the items down, and powerlevel the lower characters. It's very possible to get to level 30 without even using a skill or stat point in your build. You can even do it without job advancing.

Yes you can. I didn't max Magic Guard until 2nd job. The only exception is beginner skills, which is what I assume you meant. You cannot use your points from higher jobs on beginner skills.
