Let's look at this. Subis are +15 attack. Steelies are +25 attack. So if you were to upgrade from subis to steelies, you'd gain 10 attack.

Now only getting a few steelies is no good, you really need to get a couple rows of them, AT LEAST, for them to be worth having at all. So that's 8 steelies, at 7m each, you'd spend 56m on gaining 10 attack (until they all run out and you have to go back to town).

Or you could buy a 10 attack work glove. Looking on SW.net, 10 attack WGs are about 40m, depending on whether somebody is willing to give you a better deal or not. That is a PERMANENT 10 attack boost for 16m less than the 10 attack boost you have to refill every so often.

Or better yet, you could get a better claw. Let's say you're starting out and just have a garnier, 10 attack. Once you hit level 25 you could get a +7 meba (23 attack, 13 attack better) for 300k-400k. Once set of ilbis is only 12 attack better than subis, and I guarantee ilbis cost more than 300k-400k.

Conclusion: Claw comes first, especially early on, then WG, THEN stars. Just because somebody is throwing subis doesn't mean they are weak.

I was thinking a 9 or 10 attack wg, a few sets of steelys, and a nice claw of some sort (probably slain) What else will I need... i'm still not sure if I should spend on a cape/snowshoes. Input please, thank you.

Prolly not as interesting as Banditcom's Zakum antics, but yeah, 'sall good for me.
EDIT: hum..... yeah, imageshack is acting up on me. Oh well, the missing images showed My equip invent, and my skill book.
Skills are: Maxed PA Mastery, lvl 20 PA FA, lvl 6 PA booster, lvl 6 Iron Wall (don't ask) and Maxed HB.

Just an observation, it's always good to be prepared but woah. Also, for pure polearm isn't it better to stick with a well scrolled nine dragons rather than switching to skylar because of the speed? I know skylar is much cooler looking but still. Especially now that I hear nine dragons drop from zombie lupins, the prices should go down rapidly and it should be easy to get a well scrolled one.

Getting equipment way ahead of time can really screw you over. I remember my level 50 hat was like 3m, but now I'm pretty sure it's 2m or less. If somebody who wasn't 50 when I was had gotten a circlet ahead of time, they basically would have lost a million.

Then again, if somebody had gotten a magicodar ahead of time, they could have made quite the investment, since only Zakum drops them now. -___-

I don't know how much stars cost, but assume you were buying Ilbis for 20mil and a perfect(10% scrolled) (high level claw) for 140mil(rofl yeah right). So anyway, eventually, that high levelled claw would die out for other claws, but the Ilbis would be there forever(at least until the new stars are released).

Until you get to a higher level, I'd worry more about your stars, you'll spend less money over time to get the same attack, as compared to buying upgraded stuff all the time just to get better attack.

But that's just my opinion on things.

EDIT: EB made a good point like 5 posts up. I've yet to read the rest of the posts.

EDIT2: Nevermind, I didn't know claw scrolls were so cheap.

Oh yeah, and the reason my fire wizard is sooo boring, mainly, is because I have to look the same way every single level, and I know I'll be forced to level from 45-60 in the same stupid place, then again in 70-80 once I can one hit kill them. With the same attack, no gain in power, and no skills except lower MP usage in teleport and some MP Eater, which really isn't as cool as another skill that does something besides conserve MP.

I had a lot to say, but I'll just say B0nk, shut the **** up. You've never played a pure intelligence fire wizard in the 50s, so you don't know what in the **** you're talking about. Think of it as a spearman at level 40, except 10 times more boring and with only one attack, also with no armor or weapon variety.

I'll save the real flaming for AIM/PM. If you want to start a flame war with me, then you sure as hell will get it.

I figure I ought to go train my bloody fire wizard.

Yup, I do. Nab'em cheap and easy.
my lvl 70 set costed under 1 mil total O.o Friend gave a an avg gold dragon, traded that gold dragon + 9 def panlid for an 88 ATK one, which is the one you see.
Lvl 80 set not so lucky, but avg+clean eclipse for 1 mil ._.

Also, your point about the weapon speed applies for both spearmen classes, since both spears and polearms go down from normal to slow from lvl 50 -> 60. I got the Skylar because, quite frankly, I'd much rather have the more attack than the slightly faster attack speed. I usually try to avoid using Pole Arm booster, but it always keeps coming out... >.>
Oh, and I think lvl 40 spear users would have it slightly better than a Pure INT mage.

Wow, are you ****ing retarded?

Maybe you're just too ignorant to notice that some stuff in this game is boring, but fire mages in this level range are just beyond the limit.

Think before opening your ****ing mouth next time. If you don't have a legitimate point, then shut the **** up and get the **** out. I don't see you even playing a fire mage, so you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
