Anyway my speardude hit 174. But I'm not grinding anymore. I'm item-hunting, actually. For the third time now, I've hit max meso. So of course, when I hit max meso, I return to the marketplace and buy scrolls. A friend and I were doing a joint work glove project. He managed to find two 60%s at Jr. Yetis. He bought one, I did the Ludi quest for one, then we bought the last one. Everything passed until the very last scroll. We got a +8.

But a fortunate turn of events reset the server to before we bought the scroll. We bought another one (for a cheaper price, too) and now we have a +10 work glove.

I know to most of you this is nothing, but I think this is one of maybe four +10 or better work gloves on this server. First of all, you can't make or buy the glove. You have to find one from a monster. Second, each glove attack scroll is 800,000,000 or more. It's pretty sick. Third, scrolls in this server aren't boosted to insane rates, so they're only slightly easier to get than they are in GMS.

Anyway later in the day the GM announces they've gotten Ghost drops working, so I bring my Cleric out there and start killing. Leveled 10 times and got a Steely, a 30% claw attack, 30% dagger, and 70% cape int. The 30% worked on my near-perfect Kandayo, so now I gotta 70/60 the rest.

While I was out there, we got another GM announcement that they've fixed Zakum drops and that they'd spawn one somewhere. Two minutes later we've got a Zakum in Sleepywood. Three minutes later it's dead and drops 4 helmets. None of which go to me. We only have second job skills, after all. A spearman can't hope to beat an Assassin. Hilariously enough, some of the helmets were Z3 helmets which require 88 fame. Nobody has 88 fame. So people start buying fame for 50,000,000 each. You can't really sell them, after all. Even though they can be traded, 2.147 billion mesos is the max. People hit it on a regular basis several times a day. So people sell them for 10 ilbis a pop or +7 claws or things like that. It's pretty sick.

I normally play GMS, but I wanted to try playing that LocalMS you guys were speaking of. (It's a private server right?...) Because I found the site, and I tried signing up and I couldn't join because it said signups were closed. Can anyone help me out?

Anyways, on Odin, I'm getting tired of scrolling getas, I've scrolled about 5 of them now and I've only gotten +3/+4. It's a good thing I train in places where I can get these items so it literally costs nothing to get a geta or scroll it.

Local is a private server.

Registrations are closed because the server was crashing too quickly and there were way too many hackers.

Nowadays it's still hard to login because of the 500-player limit, but at least you rarely see a "banned hacker" autoban message.

Yes, I've figured that much out... But I thought private servers weren't coming out because of the lack of some emulator of the server. I guess it was released? Also, can you help me get an account for that server please.

They didn't need to emulate the server. They just needed to find out a way to make the official client connect to an alternate server.

I completely understand that as you say, registrations are closed, but isn't there a way to get around that? Message a mod? Or find someone with a spare/inactive account. I'm sure there are ways for me to get an account. Especially since you guys are all good players on that server.

There are dozens of people already trying to take the "inactive accounts" on the forums.

There aren't any. Anyone who signed up is either still playing or banned.

They'll have open registration sometime in the future. Just not right now. Your best bet is OdinMS, which has open registration, but on an 8x server. You also have to wait 3 days before you can make your in-game account in order to prevent hackers from having dozens of accounts.
