I overheard some discussion earlier and, from what I heard, they were talking about playing a simfile on their PSP. The only way I know to do this is to somehow have Stepmania available for the PSP.....but, is that even possible? If so, can someone let me know how they downloaded it there please because it doesn't seem plausible to do so at all.

Re: Stepmania? PSP? Together!?
ah yes. This is called PSP Revolution v0.3 . That is the newest release. It is a homebrew program, and is essentially the same graphic detail as Stepmania v3.x
In order to play it you must own Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. and have access to your memory stick, either by a reader on your computer or by a USB cable:
Install a PSP Emulator onto your memory stick. There is step by step instructions. (google it)
Then install the game PSP Revolution v0.3 and you can add songs quite like you do in stepmania (google it)
I would give you the direct URL but it's been a while since i installed it.
The gameplay itself isnt bad, i use:
Triangle = up
Circle = right
Left + Down = Left + Down
Overall, the gameplay is better left to the computer, but if you like portability, this is a cheaper way than getting a laptop.Comment

Re: Stepmania? PSP? Together!?
GTA LBS provides a loading screen where it loads a lot off the memory stick. This is where your emulator comes in. Instead it loads off the emulator, then you start your homebrew game, in this case PSPR v0.3
And no problem, good luck!Comment

Re: Stepmania? PSP? Together!?
Absolutly insane. I guess it's worth me buying it.
I just got through from doing some Web surfing; turns out that you can download other emulators such as DGens (Sega) and Snex9 (Snes)...crazy. It looks like it may be time to upgrade my memory stick size to perhaps 2 GB.Comment

Re: Stepmania? PSP? Together!?
I have version 3. something. And it works. Also FFR Low res works if you have wireless internet. But only on version 3 from Network Update. Because you get Flash player. You just need to turn off a bunch of stuff. I have a thread that shows you how for the most part. Search for it somewhere in this section. Or it might be in Media. It's called FFR + PSPComment

Not that I play SM I can still say this, they need it for that nintendo touch screen thing. DS I believe is it's name.Originally posted by hi19hi19Best strat: enjoy the game, play what you feel like when you feel like it. Don't think about what you are doing or why, enjoy the gameplay, the artistry behind the stepfile, and enjoy the music.
When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.
Originally posted by ShashakiroYeah, FFR is addicting...I don't think I'll get bored with this game unless I somehow become the best at it, which won't happen.Comment

Re: Stepmania? PSP? Together!?
PSP Revolution works the same as stepmania as far as just dragging and dropping *.sm, *.dwi and *.itg files to your song folder. The game supports dynamic backgrounds and speed mods and a few other extras.
With the new E-boot loader you dont need to downgrade your PSP to play. If you look on www.pspupdates.com they have pleanty of tutorials on how to get homebrew games on your PSP.
PSP Revolution is one of my favorite games, I have my whole 4GB mem stick filled with songs and I take my PSP with me everywhere, it's awsome.Comment
