$600 is a lot, seriously.
If I actually had to pay for my college education, books, gas, rent etc., I would never be able to afford one of these things. $600 for the console, $60 each game, and tax would run me about five paychecks to cover. But if I had to pay for those things I mentioned before, no amount of saving would ever allow me to afford this thing, and our Christmases tend to be about $100-$200 limits.
Besides, even when it does have its "killer apps" (all three of them) 360 and Wii will be so far ahead that nobody will even want one anymore. PS3 has no good games even remotely close to release, whereas Wii has about a dozen right around the corner.
