This is an incredibly old topic...from what? october of last year? Here's the low down about this, because I personally, have been waiting very patiently for the release of this movie.

Advent children, will be released into theatres in the Summer of this year. No exact date has been set, all that's known is that it will be released in Japan and other asian countries, although there HAVE been alot of rumors that they're also releasing an english version in NA. Hopefully it won't be crappily dubbed or something. The rumor about the remake of FF7, I can tell you, is completely false though. Think about it, if they were remaking FF1,2,3,4, or even 5 I would understand, but 7?! It's way too soon, my little cousin who is 9 years old is just getting into FF7 and he's only on disc 2. There are still people getting into those slightly older final fantasies, remaking such a considerably resent game would simply be a waste of money for square enix.

You fucking chooches) they should make it soon, the movie's coming out on DVD this summer if I remember the trailer to it that I watched like, last november. A sequel would be great, it is one of the best games that I've ever played.

As I've stated a hundred thousand times before, FF7 *sucks*. All the characters are decidedly lame stereotypes. Cloud is a depressed teen wanker who I would love nothing better to pummel to death were he a real person. Tifa is your typical busty airhead. Barret is a total stereotypical black person; why no one has raised a fuss about that is beyond me. The storyline could have been assembled by the FF team's asscracks. It likely was. The gameplay was simple FF rehash, and by the 4th FF installment any of us American gamers had the chance to play, it was boring as hell. The materia system totally sucked, because it allowed every character to be the exact same. There was no distinction between the characters other than limit breaks (also see: FF8 and 10). The graphics were abysmall, even for it's time. Seriously, the giant block-hand characters bugged me for the entire first disc, although I did get used to it by the end. The cinemas were good, I admit, but you don't exactly see that as the normal all-game graphics, do you?

It would be such a turn off though, Square needs to redeem itself since FF:TSW really was lacking in plot. A FFVII movie would do them some good.

That, and the fact that FFX-2 sucked and FF-11 was called FF-11 and not FF Online just so it could get more buyers. And another thing, if they are too lazy to go and change the lip movments to match english words, I'm walking right out of there. They can do it in every other game, why not FF? WHY?!
