    Half-Life 2: Episode One

If there's another thread for this I don't give a **** I didn't see it on the first two pages.

    ANYWAY

    CROSS POSTED FROM MY LIVEJOURNAL

I finished Half-Life 2: Episode One after three hours. Good ****, that's what Half-Life 2 SHOULD have been throughout the entire game (not to rag on HL2, since it's completly amazing.) Awesome utilization of the physics that HL2 was severely lacking, although that might have been that they had no experimented with **** enough; but I doubt it, ****ing Lord knows they had enough time to use their imagination. They finally worked out the kinks with the collision detection too, which leads to some pretty badass **** (sup crazy van ride in the beginning.)

    Great ****, can't wait for E2.

Oh, and for SA/FYAD goers, the spoilers are fake.

It looks rather Xen-ish, but I don't know the relationship between the Combine and the Xen. Are they the same beings? If that's the case why would the vortigaunts side with the Rebels? The only thing I've speculated is that after the death of Nihilanath it sent all the Alien Controllers into a disarray and they lost control of them, giving the vortigaunts free will.

Oh, and lol @ Kleiner trying to tell everyone to get their ****y ****y on.

Another Alyx theory that could work is that she dies in Episode 2, judging from what we saw that's a rather viable assumption, and Gordon strikes up some kind of deal with Gman to go back and save her? It seems logical, if Gman somehow lost control (if only slightly) of whatever situation he's trying to uphold.

That's one of those things you have to pay for, isn't it?
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

20 bucks for something you beat in 3 hours?

        Not worth it.

I don't know about that eb. I'm not one to spend money on things a lot, but if it is as good as he says it is then it might be. Consider this, what would it cost to go to a movie and get some food (while there). Now say that this movie is only 2 hours. I'm guessing that you didn't spend a whole 20$ on that, but still spent quite a few. Since this wouold only last a little longer than this movie, it'd be like paying a litttle more and recieving a little more. Sorry if that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, I might be forgetting something.

Also, I might buy this, but I have to check on my paycheck to see if I got that raise yet...

That's why I don't go to the movies. I wait for things to show up on TV or on sale used at Blockbuster or a friend bought it. When I DO go to the movies, it's the $1.50 theatre or one where a friend works and lets me in free.

You morons. If a normal game is $50 and is around 12-15 hours long, a game 1/3 that length would be 4-5 hours and cost about 1/3 the price, right?

This isn't a ripoff, especially considering the extreme quality of games that Valve publishes. Don't think of this as a sequel, think of it as a chapter- a mini expansion pack, if you will. And I'd much rather pay $20 for a 4 hour game of awesome quality than $50 for a 10 hour game of filler.

I never said it was bull, I just said that I'm not going to buy it. I don't play FPS games for the single player anyway, and that's all it is, right?
