    Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I got it the day it came out and haven't stopped playing for anything.

Level 18 last night. Starting to think 20 is the level limit. I'll find out.

Once I finish the game with my thief or get bored enough to do so, I'm totally making a Magician. They have so many neat spells that I wanna play with. Keep in mind I'm still not worrying about the main quest. I got somewhere in it and stopped caring.

Oh, and I FINALLY made the cure for vampirism. YES. It took 5 EMPTY Grand Soul Gems (which I found out later I could have bought for the most part), 6 cloves of Garlic, 5 Nightshade leaves, 2 Bloodgrass shoots, blood from an Argonian (had to stab an Argonian (lizard) with a special knife. Bad part is if you stab someone who's not an enemy, they'll try to kill you. So hilariously enough, I stabbed a sleeping girl in the mage guild and knocked her unconscious. She gets up after a while, heals, and goes back to bed), and dust from a specific vampire.

So yay finally it's gonna go away. I HATE it so much now that I cannot wait to make it go away. I don't care if it makes me stronger; I can't fast travel while in the sun. I can't WAIT because waiting makes me vamp up. I can't SLEEP for the same reason. It's such a pain.

    Finally.

With any iso, you install the game first, then do the no-dvd.

          Dear Squeek,

How much are you ganking bitches? And how awesomely are you doing it?
You should make a video or something of all these errors/fun thigns you can do. One of friends was talking how he's so fast, that when he's hunting and he accidentally scares a deer into running away, he just sprints after it and catches up with it. ROFL.

            Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I pass deer when running too.

When I did my run looking for an Argonian to kill, I would go in a cave / temple / thing with enemies in it and hope I saw people. Bandits, Vampires, Marauders, etc, because one of them could have been Argonian.

I was in Sneak mode running around the place just slicing people as I went through. In sneak mode, if nobody sees you, you get 6x damage. So, 1HKO. Their bodies go FLYING. It's even better when a wolf or mountain lion jumps at me and I slice them in midair. Just think of the situation. Coming at me, coming at me, almost at me, SLAM they're rolling down the mountain now.

If you kill an wolf or mountain lion just right, they do somersaults down the road until they lose momentum. Looks HILARIOUS.

I finally found my shortswords too. <3

Tell me...can you duel-wield in this game? If so, Rick will definitely want to play.

And uh, I heard something about creating your own spells. Have any of you messed with that yet?
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

                  I haven't seen anything about dual-wielding. =/

I know you can make your own potions but I'm not sure about spells. Not a magician...

Decided to mess with console commands. Maxed out every stat. Holy crap. SO FAST. And I can jump off of water. Already cleared the arena (the difficulty is based on level, so it wasn't easy even with max stats).

I did it for a couple of reasons. More to find out answers to questions posted here.

                  1) There is no level limit.
                  2) There is a stat limit. 255 in each one.
                  3) There is an ability limit. 255 in each one.
                  4) 10 points in Major Skills = levelup. Minor skills mean nothing for levelup except the Stat page that appears after leveling. Any leveled skill affects the +# on that page.

It's really fun moving at the speed of light all the time but I can't run in cities or else I'll miss every turn.

                    Re: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Why do I love Elder Scrolls games?

Today I decided I had to level up. To do this, you have to go spend the night at an inn, which is really just paying gold to secure a bed where you won't get assaulted in your sleep.

So I was in the Imperial City. First one I see is a boat with a tavern in it. I say, "Okay," and go to sleep there.

I wake up and we're in the middle of the ocean. Turns out while I was sleeping, the ship was hijacked by treasure hunters that heard of some treasure that the proprietor made up to help business. However, the janitor for the place is an Orc, hence he is an idiot, hence he forgot that I was on the ship and I was not blindfolded, gagged, and thrown in a closet.

You can tell each one of them something to stop them from fighting you, however, I picked the wrong response on purpose every time just so I could get their weapons. An Elven Longsword, two Dwemer Longswords, and a killer unique that does insane damage and absorbs fatigue. Not only that, but there was a 225 gold bounty on the leader's head, which I collected.

YOU CAN'T EVEN ESCAPE QUESTS IN AN INN. HEART YOU BETHESDA.

EDIT: Level 11. Wearing nearly full Dwemer armor, which should become full when I finish this vampire hunter quest because the guy's bodyguard was wearing full Dwemer last I saw him. Dear God I want to master Heavy Armor ASAP. The better the Heavy Armor is, the more aggrivatingly heavy it is. However, if you are an Expert, it only weighs you down half as much, and if you are a Master, it does not encumber you at all.

I sure hope I hit Master before I find anything Daedric, i.e. 90 lb. cuirass, 72 lb. greaves, and other ridiculously out there weights.

                        It was Dwemer in Morrowind.

                        And yeah, there is. Daedric.

                          I found that out today.

Before all the Daedric stuff was crap. Now all of the sudden I invade a Vampire base to waste time and they had Daedric stuff.

No shortsword of course. That'd be too easy for me.

I've been playing it since saturday. Damn fun game. I've beaten the dark brotherhood and the arena, started the thieves guild and the main quest. Apart from that I've just been wondering about doing some side quests, even then I don't feel I've done that much, which I love, the thought that there is so much more for me to do. Here are some screenshots:

                              My character

                              His skills

                              Some stats

Some more stats (mainly just to show how long I've been a vampire)

A shelf in one of my houses

The bow is the shadowbane. Middle shelf has a "helm of truth", some flowers, and "head of mother", next shelf has a large skull a small skull, an argonian heart and a ruby. The hourglass is the "sands of time" stolen from a necromancer. The other stuff are the scales of truth and the "ayleid statue" with an elven dagger on top.

                              Me and my shadowmere horse

Just a couple of "nature" shots here:
                              in oblivion

                              On top of Gnoll Mountain

And the last just to show I can use a bow:

I hit him in every area possible, both arms, both legs, chest, neck and face.

Also, just to answer a couple of things:

Level 18 last night. Starting to think 20 is the level limit. I'll find out.
Once you max all your major skills to 100 and become master you cannot level anymore, that could be anything between 50-70. But, if you then go to jail your max skills may reduce, keep doing this and then you can work them back up and gain more levels, so technically you can level forever.

What's wrong with vampirism? As long as you feed as soon as vampirism goes to 50% or onwards to 75% then you'll go back to 25%, once you feed sunlight doesn't hurt you and you can fast travel easy. Yes once you sleep just sleep at night then go feed on someone, takes all of about 5 minutes. And when, at 25%, you get +5 to some skills, 100% disease resistance (or 75%..I forget which is my wood elf attribute and which is vampirism attribute, I have 175% resistance, hence no diseases ever) and you also get 10% damage resistance, it's all pretty sweet.

Actually, no. They can go up to level 255. My test character is level 41 and still has levelups to take care of, so I lost interest. There's a box that comes up telling me I can't improve upon perfection, so the levelup does absolutely nothing for me.

Believe me, I thought it was all awesome as well. But when you start doing quests that require waiting, you're going to hate not being able to just press "t" and do it. Because doing so means you'll take damage when you come back in and not able to fast-travel until you feed, which might be a long time if you can't find someone sleeping at 3:00 in the afternoon.

I found myself wasting so much time fast-traveling back and forth between town and some far away place just to make time go by.

My main character is level 20 now. Almost done with all the major factions (6/7 finished!) and so I'll go continue on the main quest or whatever when I'm done.
