Yuri's Revenge (and EA's takeover in general) screwed up the C&C plot a ton. In case you didn't realize, all the C&C games were supposed to have an interrelated plot. Basically, the removal of Hitler from the past in the RA series led to the eventual formation of the Brotherhood of Nod, those causing the Tiberium-based games. They were going to eventually meet up with RA prequels and Tiberium sequels and such, but EA came in and was like "hey, let's fuck everything up because psychic stuff is cool!!" The whole Yuri plotline was completely retarded and messes up a lot of connections between the related storylines. If you go to any serious C&C website or message board, you'll see a lot of big fans of the series complaining their asses off about the game.
Then you take Generals, which has obviously NOTHING to do with either type of C&C game, and you have yet another example of EA fucking up everything they get ahold of. Granted, Generals wasn't a bad game, but it shouldn't have been given the C&C label. Also, they shouldn't have stopped patching the game like they do for EVERY FUCKING GAME THEY OWN THE RIGHTS TO! EA thinks they can just release a game, maybe patch it once, and then leave it. There are a ton of obvious fixes in YR that never got addressed, because they only released one patch. People are probably still complaining about the state of Generals and Zero Hour, but I wouldn't know, I stopped hanging around C&C forums because it was always just pining for a patch and wondering how the storyline could be patched up. It's depressing what that company does with games... :\
But anywho, while we're on the subject of C&C, I'd just like to say this: C&C: Tiberian Dawn (the very first one, usually seen without that subtitle), while lacking in some features, had the coolest battle system ever. The fact that units missed made it so much cooler than all the other C&C games, and I don't know why no other games have implemented a system quite like C&C: TD's. And the bad part is, most people started playing the series at RA, so they don't even know about the goodness of TD.
