Which IIDX style should I get?

This Christmas I'm getting an IIDX controller along with 10th style. I have enough money left to get another IIDX game but I don't know which one I should get. I've been looking at 8th and 9th style just because they're newer styles, so I don't know much about 1st - 7th style.

I'd like to see a FULL song list for any style. I know the new songs in each game but I don't know the songs carried over from the past games. I'd like to see a full list.

I've been crunching too many numbers.

First, the bang for your buck awards. The number next to the two styles is the number of songs the two styles share in common. For instance, there are 14 songs that are on 5th's list that are also on 6th's list. This has nothing to do with revivals or what song premiered where - 6th and 8th share V in common, even though it premiered on 5th.

Recommended strategy:
Start with 9th. Beginner's mode, good interface.
Go to 5th to pick up the most songs you don't have on 9th.
Go to 10th then (after 9th, it's most unique and has most songs not on 9th and 5th)
Then get 4th to get lots of songs not on 10th (your most recent purchase.)
Then 3rd for the rest of the old songs.
Finally, 8, 6, and 7 - the three least unique styles.

Personally, I've had the most enjoyment out of 10th, 8th, 6th, and 5th. I would go for 8th or 6th, though, because a LOT of 5th is repeated on other styles. 5th has Rislim, though. Actually, if you're looking to actually buy the games, you'll have to get 8th. 6th and below aren't made by Konami anymore, and are extremely hard to find. Play-Asia might have 3rd and 4th, but 5th and 6th are really hard to find. Hmm... Play-Asia has some preowned copies of 5th, but no 6ths at all. Shame, it's a great style.

Or you could just download them all like me and save yourself a lot of money.

I think I'll get 8th. When I get bored with those two I'll download 6th, maybe 7th and 9th.

8th has a bunch of awesome 7s and flashing 7s, but everything else isn't that great. It might not be best for a beginner.

7th would probably be the best to get since I'm just starting to get into IIDX, but I don't really want it because of the song list. 9th has more beginner songs but I wanted 8th for the songs. (V35, Bit Mania, Tribal Master, Star Dream, Rainbow Flyer, airflow)

Right now, I think it's a battle between 8th and 9th.

NONONONOON GET 8TH NOT 9TH.

Trust me, if its a battle between those two, you would be much much happier with 8th. 9th is flooded with songs that don't feel like IIDX songs and Naoki remixes. 8th has songs that fit the genre perfectly.

Uh, stick with 8th. After you get comfortable with 8th, then we will talk about the next style.

Oh yeah, beginner mode is worthless. I've never used it, not once. Just go straight to l7.

Then again, I can clear flashing 7s after playing for less than a month, so you might be slower getting started.
