Battletoads for NES... any1 ever beat it?

Ive been playing the old school 8-bit recently n just remembered how goddamn hard that game is. Been playing it for hours and only got to level 5 j/w if anyone ever beat it without smashing it with a hammer first.

lol dudes i beat that game so many times,my favorite level is where your riding these platforms down this vertical tunnel and you punch the thing trying to grab at you,good times good times.....

Yeaah those motorbikes... I swear its taken me at least 2 weeks to just beat THAT part. I've gotten as far as stage 5 where I am going insane now again

Ha, I still have that, I should start it up again and see if I can beat it now..

I figured out a weird game genie cheat that wasn't listed in the book by seeing the pattern in the codes for level select though, back when I was 5 I was like WOW IM SMART and of course I was excited at my use of logic.
That stupid witch lady is tall, she's frickin 5 times the size of a toad

It took me like 10 minutes to figure out which buttons did what. I got to the speedbike level and gave up because food was ready. Meh, whatever.

Ya I beat it, I had to beat my brother up a million times till he got the motor bike level right but then at the end you fight that lady and she pulls tornado crap on you, they made a tv series a long time ago but only showed the first episode then it got discontinued

Yeah, I remember Nintendo Power hyping the fuck out of Battletoads, even so far as to make comics and lame additional storylines about the game. It's still one of my favorite NES games though even though it is punch-you-in-the-balls-slap-your-mom-in-the-face-and-spit-on-your-dog-hard. I can always get to the one part of the enemy ship where you climb upward to fight RoboManus without getting killed. The Gargantuan Tubes are a bitch and every level after that is just even harder. I've beaten the game twice without the use of a Game Genie. You put in infinite lives and then you beat the shit out of your friends and find other ways to make them die in two-player mode. Good times.

Who remembers this classic Battletoads scene?
I said this game punches balls and it does...literally in the arcade version. The rat even gives a high-pitched squeak when you grab his balls. Classic.
