Supposively the installation times are about 4-8 minutes and, when installed, the load times are really fast. R7, which doesn't have installation, has so-so load times but it's not as slow as people made it out to be. Also no overheating.

The biggest problem is that it's really loud when it starts up. Also, the PS3 currently doesn't .avi which is pretty stupid.

Just what I've heard from someone who has it.

I was at Game Crazy today. They told me that, apparently, 75% of American PS3 systems that have been shipped are already being called back because of defects. I don't have a concrete source, but I believe it. GG Sony.

carbo, remember the first 360s? Not every system was bad, but a lot of them were. This means that there will likely be good PS3s. Bad PS3s, though? I say, yes. Most definitely. They couldn't fix the horrible Blu-Ray problems in less than three months. Hell no. That's why they've been saying that there aren't any problems.

Maybe Sony will find some sort of way to capitalize on this for their future console launches...Have another company hire people to buy all the consoles on day one and auction them off, then send the profits back to Sony! By doing this, Sony will make even more money, and they have something extra to stroke their gigantic egos with. That's like killing two birds with one stone! HUZZAH!!!

Why not?

If Sony hadn't butchered the production of their units, there wouldn't have been a shortage and people would not have had any kind of problems with this.

Just watch how the Wii launches and you'll see how a company should do a launch.
