    Megaman: Should he live on?

Post you opinions on weather the megaman series is now being too drawn out, what with the new Megaman X games appering, along with the horrendious new show, and the addition of the Megaman Zero series.

In my personal opinion I believe that Megaman sould finally retire to the Old VG Characters home, since they seem to not be making any major breakthroughs with any of the games, Nor giving it anything that makes it stand above it's older and much better counterparts. I would personally like to see mabey 1 or 2 more games to come out then let it just fad away.

RE: Megaman: Should he live on?

X8 wasn't bad at all and still decently hard. But... It's not so much that Megaman should be retired, but if he is going to be in more games.. we need a variation on, net just gameplay, but everything. Example? Games like Metroid. I will kill myself the day they stop creating Metroid games, but the 3D actually works and is mucho refreshing.

The X series needs to die, badly. But Megaman himself needs to live on.

I like how Viewtiful Joe looks alot like Protoman.

RE: Megaman: Should he live on?

The X series was supposed to die after X5. That's how Inafune wanted it to go.

I think the reason there isn't much variation in the Megaman games is because of an "if it isn't broken, why fix it?" philosophy. The platform style is still fun, so there's no need to change.

And yet, they still did, with Legends and Battle Network, so if you want a change of pace that badly, play those.
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

I LOVE the X series. I must admit, however, that X5-X7 sucked pretty bad. Still, the series is quite good all-in-all.

When you say the show is bad, remember that it's based off Battle Network. I find Battle Network to be a poor incarnation of Mega Man... really, what was Capcom thinking? I thought I might try it, and after playing the first one, I didn't want to drop another 30 bucks for the second one. It did not appeal to me, at all. The character design is somewhat appealing, but that's all I can give it.

Mega Man Zero is a pseudo-sequel of the X series that has not reached a conclusion yet. I don't really know what to think of it. I've only played the first one, and it was damn hard. I can't give any credit to the art director, though. All the concept art looks raw and unpolished, and the design, overall, is really, um... bad. I'm still deciding whether or not I want to play the next ones. I must say that I don't like the rating system, which drops to F when you use permanent cyber-elfs. And it's almost impossible to beat the game without them....

Oh and Kenzya, putting the X series into 3D with X7 was a mistake. That's why X8 is back only in 2D. Megaman Legends worked in 3D, but it was designed fro mthe start to be like that. THat's why it worked. The X series does NOT work in 3D. IT almost destroyed the series completely... I'm glad that they kept it the way it should be for X8.

I don't think he needs to die, he just doesn't need 10 games released about him every year. I would like to see another Legends game with dual analog control, a new Power Battle game and the original franchise revived.

MegaMan battle network 2 was addicting for a while but I got bored after I found out its the same thing over and over.

I prefer Sonic games because Sonic Adventure 2 battle for the gamecube still has me playing it because of the chaos chao :/

No. And this thread is not about Sonic.

It would be nice to see the old series revived... instead of constantly reincarnated. Does Megaman and Bass count as faithful to the orignal? I never played it... aside from that, they obviously thought it was good enough to bring the old games back in a collection... along with "never-before-seen-in-America" arcade battlers. Yeah right. I played one of 'em at Nickel City in Northbrook, Illinois. Let's see something new that is truly faithful to the original series, and is an actual game.
