That's right, and I just played it at my local arcade. It rules. A lot. I've yet to study it (right after I post this I'm heading off to Tekkenzaibatsu.com), but from what I've experienced, it's awesome. Think back to the Tekken 3 fighting style, put in the Tekken 4 graphics and environments, add to the TTT movelists, and you have Tekken 5.
There've been a few basic changes (I was told you have to tap up or down twice to sidestep, but I'm not positive), but it feels strikingly familiar, as it seems to have taken everything good from the past games. One thing I really liked was the return of 1+3 grabs. They still switch sides, but they're grabs again, too!
The boss is a whore, and the story's questionable, but I'll check back on that.
Bryan seems to have taken a hit in development. His move from TTT to Tekken 4 was quite drastic, enough to turn some loyal Bryan fans away, but not me. However, to me he now seems too cut back from his TT ways, even though he still retains a fantastic movelist. I dunno, but that's how I felt at first impression.
Steve seems to have been beefed up. His harder-hitting moves now seem to do a bit more damage and he's been given some awesome new moves (though all the older ones off of the sways and the flicker are still there). All in all, he's still as yummy as in his first appearance, if not a bit more.
Nina has as well been given many more awesome moves and combos. Though I haven't had much time to explore, I'm worried that her sidestep game sucks. She took a step back from her Tekken 4 style, which I really like, and she can reverse easier, too.
Those are the three I played with today. Expect more commentary when I study some more. I'm really excited about this game, especially since TTT is one of my favorite games of all time.
EDIT: First time release characters: Anna Williams, Baek Doo San, and Roger, Jr. Next three are Bruce Irvin, Wang Jinrey, and Kuma! ANNA AND BRUCE ARE BACK IN ACTION, BITCHES!!! Sorry, but they're my favorite team from TTT.
