Obligatory Opinion Thread.

Since you're reading this line you are now forced to post your opinion of the following games I am considering purchasing this weekend.

A) Viewtiful Joe.
B) Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes.


I can get both for 25-30 bucks and have the money. Question is, are they worth it?

If you would replace one of them for another semi-old game (aka, not 40-50 bucks anymore), what would you take out and what would you replace it with?

All opinions relevant to the topic matter greatly appreciated. All other opinions will be scrutinized.

Twin Snakes is great, especially if you never played MGS the first time around.

Viewtiful Joe. Then pick up the original Metal Gear Solid. It's better, if you can believe it. Like, for one, it actually REQUIRES stealth, not like with MGS2 and Twin Snakes. If you try to go through and shoot everyone, you WILL be killed. Plus, the addition of a first person mode makes certain bosses immensely easy. The fact that somebody beat the game in just over an hour means it's way too easy.

It's kinda hard to play the original MGS without a system that can play the original game...

Obviously VJ is looking like the choice of this matter. But I was asking what you would replace one of them with if it wasn't good. Anti picked up on that.

I still might just get Twin Snakes anyway. I don't generally like third-person shooters. That is, unless, someone can think of a better choice to replace it with that I can play on the only console I have: GCN. I should have specified this...

VJ is awesome, everyone who owns a GC needs to getit because of its goodness. The reason why I think many people passed it up is its really hard. But it's worth it, if u get far enough Alastor the blade demon is unlocked as a playable char and he is awesome.

I wouldn't replace any of my games fro it though because I always return games that aren't fun anymore and I keep timeless classics like Metroid Prime and SSBM

I'll be going later tonight or tomorrow afternoon and definitely getting Viewtiful Joe since I've heard great things about it not only in this thread but all over the Video Games section. I'll hold off on Twin Snakes until another pricedrop or a better influence towards buying it.

VJ is hard? Hard as in Ikaruga hard? That's gotta be one of the hardest games out there...not to mention F-Zero GX. And in F-Zero I'm just about done with Expert on every cup. Ikaruga I've taken a break from to re-beat Tales of Symphonia (IT'S JUST THAT GOOD :O), but I'll play it again to see if I can beat it on hard.

PS - In my second run through of ToS, I'm only 12 hours in and at level 90 having gotten (don't want to spoil it, here's the acronym'd form) V and G in the L and E temples, respectively. Not a single enemy has offed a single one of my players in any battle.

Argh. You realize that you're going to pay 50 bucks for basically a map change and the ability to ride bicycles, don't you? And that there are like 5 more GTAs coming out before they eventually make so much money off of stupid people and quit while they're ahead.

Throw away your PS2. It was good for Kingdom Hearts. Only. Buy a Gamecube. It's superb.

Viewtiful Joe is one of the best games ever. Second best next-gen game for sure.

Squeek: The PS2 is good for a couple of other games... Disgaea and Xenosaga spring to mind.

Forgot about those. Sorry. Also Star Ocean. But overall, I still prefer GCN.

Not like mainstream kiddies buy those type of games anyway.

Now I'm going to force my friend to get Xenosaga and SO3. It's only fair since I want to play them.

Tell me about it. I haven't bought a game since Alone in the Dark 4 for Dreamcast.
