Yeah, I'm definitely gonna say Live-A-Live. Just played through it again... I love the quirky sense of humor that the whole game has... and it's just plain cool. Which is more than can be said for Square's more recent efforts.

I don't think you people understand why you play final fantasy. Maybe you are pea brained people who don't enjoy a good story? Well that can't be the case, because the final fantasy series is KNOWN for being great story after great story.
I can't believe that tool had the decency to say he deleted ff8 to make room for "REAL" RPGs. Idiot. Final Fantasy 8 is by far the best final fantasy to date. I love 7, and 6 holds a special place in my heart too, but 8 was gaming euphoria. I was satisfied by everything in that game: The story, the battle system, even the ways you could become virtually unstoppable. They knew what they were doing with FF8, and i've yet to see an FF compare with it yet, let's keep our fingers crossed for 12.Comment

Oh, and I change my vote to a 6-way tie. Bahamut Lagoon, Live-a-Live, SaGa Frontier, SaGa Frontier 2, FFT, Legend of Mana. As you can see, Square's (well, Squenix's) strength lies in their other franchises, not Final Fantasy. Even though FFT was seriously one of the best games ever. FFTA sucked big time though.
