Re: Dueling Network
I'm a poser.
I bought the DBZ cards but never really actually played or even bothered learning how to.
Plus I was like 11 at the timeLast edited by Red Blaster; 03-17-2015, 09:22 PM.Originally posted by hi19hi19edgelord Linkin Park adolescent angst musicOriginally posted by choofhey great contribution to the thread cucklord the exit's up in the top right of your screen, it's called "log out"Originally posted by Funnygurl555what's a milky christmas :OComment

Re: Dueling Network
I don't think anyone actually played it back then, like Pokemon... Seemed like not a lot of people played, just collected and traded. I see Pokemon being played more now than ever, at least around here. Me being one of them.

Re: Dueling Network
Pokemon was too slow-paced..kinda similar to Magic's mana with its energy cards
I can only think of one time I ever actually played itOriginally posted by hi19hi19edgelord Linkin Park adolescent angst musicOriginally posted by choofhey great contribution to the thread cucklord the exit's up in the top right of your screen, it's called "log out"Originally posted by Funnygurl555what's a milky christmas :OComment

Re: Dueling Network
Kanzas one day we should play. I picked up DN one day because my friend told me Yugioh went full ape shit retarded with the meta (it was the Edrag/prophecy) meta. I learned the meta and then used my friends spare deck in a tourney to win him a play mat. That said I don't actually own any yugioh cards minus my very ghetto middle school exodia deck (i'm still surprised I got by through all of that without the deck getting jacked).
I don't play yugioh anymore so I have no idea how the newer (still old) cards work or there rulings so I'm still very slow when playing (Generally I'll just assume everything you do is legal; don't cheat me). I still fool around with different exodia builds in DN so prepare for solitaire.

Re: Dueling Network
What format? Original was hella fast with most games ending by turn 3-4.
You had weenie hay fever, rain dance pump, and your variations of tank builds (ranging from chansey to lapras); though to be fair, it was generally the meta of infinite staple cards and the counter play of lass to fuck it all up.

Re: Dueling Network
You do the online TCG? I actually do that AND I have a solid real life Pokemon deck.
I actually find Pokemon to be fun. While MTG is way too mana-reliant for my tasting, Pokemon doesn't have nearly as much of an issue with that. You have so much draw power in the form of trainer cards that you end up drawing energy almost every time you need it. You'd also be very surprised on how fast Pokemon games are because it's revolved around one hit KO's on EX's.
I can understand where people don't like slow-paced games because they wanna just get the game over with and not like dragged out games that could wear them out in the long run.Comment

Re: Dueling Network
I went to a store with my cousin who got me into the scene when I was around 8 (he's 9 years older than me). I was basically destroying people with random decks until I accidentally stumbled upon the rain dance meta (no one really knew how to play efficiently and an 8 year old was the first to figure out the meta in the store... they all must have been super casuals). That aside; I still play card games randomly (I stopped for the past year and half though).
I went through MTG tournies making money at every single event I went to; I use to play CFVG with the group that played at world level (I'm pretty sure one of them made it into top 3 but not in world's; can't remember); among other things.
That said; I think I'm being bias when I say I knew people who played with their pokemon cards back when base set was still new.
Wizards of the Coast is a family of studios specializing in building role playing, trading card, and digital games for all genres of players.
(tl;dr) 0 mana legacy dredge deck. (Legacy mtg is a scary beast)
There's a difference between a slow meta format and slow players. I'm fine with the fat meta every once in a while; but a slow player has literally cost me tournies as I patiently wait for them to go 1-1 out of 3 in 45 minutes and end up giving me that draw which slots me under best 8.
That said; if anyone plays me in DN i'll be that loser who takes too long per turn.Last edited by FF_rules; 03-20-2015, 06:28 AM.

Re: Dueling Network
For the record, slow players are the best players at any card game. There's one dude that's really slow and goes into time literally every round with his Dark World deck. All he does is win because he'll go into game 3 with like 2 minutes to go, side in his Golden Ladybugs to gain 500 LP every turn he'll end up with like 2 in hand.
If you can't play in turns, you're probably not good at any card game regardless of skill before time is called.Comment
